SOS démarrage windows impossible aprés installation linux

Bonsoir à tous,

J'ai tellement entendu parler d'Ubuntu que j'ai sauté le pas.
Bien entendu j'ai visité le site et les différents tutoriel.
Voici ce" qui m'arrive :
1- j'ai archivé tous mes fichiers de windows.
2- j'ai formaté mon disque en créant 3 partitions
    1 pour linux (20Go NTFS)
    1 pour windows (10Go Fat 32)
    1  de 80 Go pour le stockage (NTFS)
3- J'ai réinstallé Windows XP professional
4 - j'ai installé Ubuntu 8.9 à partir de live USB

Jusque la pas de problème.

Mais lorsque j'ai voulu démarrer Windows je n'ai pas accès au BIOS pour choisir la partition.
J'ai bien Grub qui se lance mais après je sèche.

Pourriez-vous m'aider SVP

mon poste est un HP 2600 avec 1 DD de 120 Go

Si ubuntu se lance, dans ce cas poste le résultat de

sudo fdisk -l

(-L en minuscule) dans un terminal (Application/accessoires/terminal)

s'il ne se lance pas, alors fais la même chose en bootant sur le LiveCD (Démarrer ubuntu sans rien changer)

Puis

cat /boot/grub/menu.lst

(si ubuntu a été lancé depuis le disque)

ou

cat /media/diskxxx/boot/grub/menu.lst

(en remplaçant diskxxx par l'intitulé de la partition système ubuntu telle qu'elle apparait dans Raccourcis)

Deux raisons pour que cela ne marche pas:

- Windows n'est pas sur une partition primaire
- tu n'as pas d'entrée Windows dans ton menu.lst

Je crois que je vais recommencer un formatage et réinstaller windows puis Linux.
Je me replonge dans les tuto.

Si tu réinstalles, fais 3 partitions pour le système, pour le swap et pour le /home

Ok mais ces 3 partitions c"est uniquement pour Linux?
je crois que je vais encore lire les tutos afin de bien comprendre le fonctionnement de l'instal.
