problème carte Silicon Motion, Inc. SM720 Lynx3DM

bonjour

j'ai un portable panasonic CF37 toughbook avec 256mb de ram et un écran de 12,1". Mon problème est le suivant ; je suis sous feisty fawn, avec un seul problème vis-a-vis de la carte graphique : c'est une Silicon Motion, Inc. SM720 Lynx3DM lorsque je fais un lshw, seulement, je ne peux pas changer la résolution de l'écran : je suis en 1024*748. le problème, c'st que j'aimerais passer en 800*600 pour améliorer la vitesse d'affichage, car même sous xfce, c'est assez lent. Lors de l'install, j'ai utilisé les pilote siliconmotion, comme préconisé, mais le pc me paraît bien moins réactif que sous xpp, son ancien OS dont j'essaie de me débarrasser. J'aimerais savoir s'il y a quelque chose à faire, sachant que j'ai déjà essayer de modifier le fichier xorg, mais que cela n'a pas été efficace.

Peux-tu coller le contenu de xorg.conf obtenu via la commande

sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

?

Donc essaye en commentant (en ajoutant un # en début de ligne) la ligne

Driver        "siliconmotion"

et en la remplaçant par

Driver        "vesa"

puis tu relance le serveur X par

crtl + alt + backspace

Si le serveur X plante au démarrage, passe en console avec

ctrl + alt + F1

connecte toi et modifie xorg.conf, avec la commande indiquée plus haut, en enlevant la ligne que je t'ai fait rajouter et en décommentant la ligne comportant siliconmotion.
