resolution d'ecran capricieuse

Salut tout le monde.

Bon, alors je tourne sous Feisty, tout se passe bien, et depuis ce matin, sans raison apparente, ma résolution d'écran habituelle de 1600x1200 s'est transformée en 1024x768, avec un taux de rafraichissement de 50, ce qui rend la lecture bien désagréable.

Déjà, c'est louche.

De plus, lorsque je vais dans "Réglage du système", "Moniteur", et que je remet la résolution et le taux de rafraichissement, j'ai un message qui me demande si je veux conserver les nouveaux paramètres alors que l'affichage est le même. J'accepte, rien de changé. Dans le doute, je redémarre, et hop 1024x768, toujours rien de changé.

D'après ce que me dit cette rubrique, dans l'onglet "Matériel", mon écran HP7550-Color est bien reconnu en écran principal (1), et ma Nvidia GeForce-FX5200 parait également bien reconnue. Cependant, dans ma liste de périphériques, l'écran utilisé est le "(0)-Plug N Play".

Dernier détail, à l'allumage le démarrage semble se faire en 1600x1200 avec un taux de rafraichissement qui ne montre pas de lignes, puis je rentre le mot de passe, et c'est seulement là que ça devient moche. De même, à la déconnexion, l'écran est beau, à la reconnexion, c'est moche.

De là, j'ai déduis peut-être à tort que tout marchait bien - d'autant plus que sous Windows c'est nickel - et qu'il devait y avoir une config du serveur X qui avait sauté, allez savoir comment. Mais comment retrouver ce qui a été modifié ? Et, surtout, comment remettre tout ça bien ?

C'est plutôt l'un de mes fichiers xorg.conf... D'autres, dans le même dossier, sont nommés xorg.conf.1, xorg.conf.2, et ce jusqu'à xorg.conf.40.

Des fois que ce soit utile, je précise que j'ai un PC qui tourne à 1.7GHz, que je me sers de Beryl parce que c'est cool les fenêtres molles, que je n'ai qu'un écran, etc., et je pourrai encore préciser bien d'autres choses si nécessaire.
