sortie VGA sur labtop avec ATI radeon libre sous Feisty

Je n'ai pas regardé les 22 pages épinglées mais un certain nombre voir un nombre certain et je n'ai pas trouvé mon bonheur.
Voilà j'ai une carte M7 LW radeon 7500, je suis sous Feisty avec la radeon libre qui fonctionne plutôt bien avec la 3D et Beryl.
Là c'est vraiment bien avec Feisty pour Beryl ce qui n'était pas le cas avant.
Il me reste toutefois un point noir jamais éludé.
Je suis enseignant et lorsque je branche ( avant de démarrer le portable ) un video projecteur sur la sortie VGA, je ne peux pas visualiser de video que ce soit à partir de VLC, TOTEM ou MPLAYER.
J'ai essayé de lire les pages "man radeon" mais bof je vois pas.
