Xorg.conf malmené avec Nvidia
Salut à tous,
Aujourd'hui j'ai eu un très gentil pote qui a réussi à m'installer parfaitement beryl et les drivers nvidia avec. Tout marchait bien nickel jusqu'au moment où j'ai été activé dans les paramètres Nvidia du serveur X, le double écran.
Quand j'ai redémarrer, eh bien je me suis retrouvé avec une belle erreur de serv X et paf en ligne de commande. Malheureusement je n'ai pas sauvé mon Xorg.conf et c'est le seul problème qu'il y a. Pour l'instant je n'ai rien effacer, ni installer pour éviter de m'ajouter du travail.
Je suis donc passé en mode driver NV pour pouvoir revenir à une interface graphique.
Voilà la dernière version de mon fichier Xorg.conf après avoir changé les configs dans le panneau de controle des drivers Nvidia. (Malheureusement mon clavier et mon son ne sont plus configurés, je ne sais pas si c'est lier)

Les drivers installé sont les derniers sur le site de Nvidia. (fichier .run x86). J'ai une GeForce 7800GTX et deux écrans. Pour l'instant 1 seul me suffira tant que ça remarche !

J'ai grosso modo la même config que toi : deux écrans 19 ", une geforce 7950 et beryl tourne sans problème. Voilà mon xorg.conf (pour écran étendu).

Ce même fichier fonctionnait avec une 7800 GS et il a fonctionné de même avec Sabayon Linux.
Ingé en préprod Unix : forcément sous GNU/Linux à la maison (Ubuntu 10.10 + ArchLinux tout neuf)

merci d'avoir répondu si rapidement !
Alors j'ai repris ta config et mis mon écran hp 1723 à la place. J'ai repris les sections monitor, device et screen.
J'ai 2 messages d'erreurs importants:
- Il n'arrive pas à lancer le module GLX
- Il trouve une version différente du kernel nvidia x.x.850 et x.x.950 (quelque chose comme ça)
Mh, je suis perplexe et je ne sais pas s'il faut réinstaller les drivers nvidia, le kernel aussi ?
Et pour l'instant, j'ai toujours pas de son. (Le clavier est bon maintenant)

PS: c'est bon j'ai réussi à remettre le son, y'a plus que le problème des drivers

Je ne saurais que te conseiller d'installer envy qui te permettra d'installer je l'espère proprement le driver nvidia :
Donc à partir de cette doc, crée un répertoire envy dans ton home, lance un terminal dedans et lance les commandes suivantes :
pour récupérer le .deb
wget http://albertomilone.com/ubuntu/nvidia/scripts/envy_0.9.1-0ubuntu4_all.deb
pour l'installer
sudo dpkg -i envy_0.9.1-0ubuntu4_all.deb
Ensuite, vu que tu semble avoir des paquets conflictuels (je sors ça de je ne sais plus où, de la doc sans doute, c'est une feuille imprimée il y a quelques mois) :
Edition du fichier "linux-restricted-modules-common"
le fichier doit ressembler à ça :
DISABLED_MODULES="nv"
installation des dépendances :
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r` build-essential gcc gcc-3.4 xserver-xorg-dev
Suppression des paquets conflictuels :
sudo apt-get --purge remove nvidia-glx nvidia-settings nvidia-kernel-common
Suppression du script nvidia :
sudo rm /etc/init.d/nvidia-*
(cette commande ne trouvera sans doute rien)
Ensuite, sors de ta session (CTRL+ALT+F1), connecte toi s'il le faut, lance la commande
envy
et lance le choix "désinstallation du driver nvidia" (choix 2 ?, je ne sais plus).
Lance ensuite l'installation du driver via envy, répond yes ou Y partout (il va te proposer de reconfigurer xorg) sauf à la fin où il te propose de relancer gdm.
A ce stade (si tu y arrive, je l'espère), fais un backup de /etc/X11/xorg.conf et remplace le avec les sections screen, device, monitor ... de celui que je t'ai filé (Monitor "SyncMaster") n'étant qu'un identifiant, tu pourrais mettre toto, c'est pareil.
A ce stade, tu peut relancer gdm :
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start
Bon ba forcément, je ne garantie rien, mais chez moi ça marche à chaque update d'xorg (comme ce matin).
