ATI : Accélération active, mais non en fait...

Allez, je tente une bouteille à la mer, après une bonne heure de recherche...

Sur un laptop, carte Radeon Xpress 200M, j'ai installé le pilote graphique proprio de ati avec envy, l'accélération fonctionne :

goldy@goldy-laptop:~$  glxinfo | grep "direct rendering"
direct rendering: Yes

Les engrenages semblent correctes :

goldy@goldy-laptop:~$ glxgears -printfps
7127 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1425.249 FPS

Sauf qu'en fait :

goldy@goldy-laptop:~$ ps -aux
[...]
goldy     5922  102  1.5  20632 14484 pts/0    RL+  00:41   0:10 glxgears -print
[...]

(On remarque que glxgears me bouffe tout mon CPU (il me semble pas que ça soit normal).)

Même si l'affichage des roues est relativement fluide, et même si je grossie la fenêtre pour qu'elle prenne la totalité de l'écran, si je lance les roues par xscreensaver, c'est tout sacadé, donc en fait, pas d'accélération 3D apparement...

Quelqu'un a une idée ? ou je peux aller me faire voir car j'avais qu'a pas acheter un laptop avec un chipset ati (et vendu avec une licence vista en plus ) ?

(en fait, c'est pas moi qui l'a acheté, on me l'a offert, je peux pas dire grand chose hein... (et puis je leur avait dit pas pas m'acheter de pc sans me consulter avant...(j'en avait trouvé un pas chère et vendu avec knoppix sur internet (c'est désolant))))

Je met le conf de xorg au cas où :

J'ai mis ON donc, bah non, ça marche pas mieux.

J'ai aussi essayé le truc du wiki :

et
