Accélèration graphique

Donc j'ai installé les drivers proprietaire pour ma carte Ati X1800GTO

http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/materiel/ati_proprietaire

les commandes
glxgears ou fgl_glxgears et  glxinfo | grep render fonctionnait

j'ai ensuite installé beryl mais il m'a fallu installer XGL.

Une fois que beryl a fonctionné, les commandes

ça m'interresse aussi car sur ma session gnome ma carte graphique tourne sans prob ac l'accélération 3D mais pas sur ma session xgl pourquoi??? Et j'ai exactement le meme message d'erreur sauf que moi c'est ac une ATI x700

Pareil pour moi, sous gnome aucun soucis et sous xgl, quand je tape :

romain@FJ-Linux:~$ fgl_glxgears

et quand je fais "glxgears", les engrenages s'affichent mais sont hyper lents et j'obtient en fermant la fenetre :

EDIT : probleme résolu  :en fait apparemment, c'est normal qu'il y ait le message de Xlib, j'ai donc démarrer beryl avec "beryl-xgl --use-copy" et ca marche.

tu peux expliquer ta manipulation plus en détail ? car je comprends pas ce que tu entends par démarrer beryl avec "beryl-xgl --use-copy"

En fait, tu démarre ta session XGL normalement.
Ensuite tu ouvre un terminal et là tu tapes :

beryl-manager --use-copy

Normalement ca doit démarrer beryl (le diamand dans la barre des taches) et si ya pas d'écran tout blanc qui intervient, c'est bon. Pour vérifier le mode "copy", tu cliques droit sur le diamand, ensuite il y a un truc "type de rendu" je crois et là "copy" devrait être coché. J'ai essayé les autres mode mais il n'y a que "copy" qui fait marcher beryl (donc sans ecran blanc )

Voilà, j'espère que ça t'aidera, parce que j'ai longtemps cru à un probleme entre xgl et l'accélération 3D alors que juste --use-copy a règlé mes soucis.

Par contre en parlant d'accélération graphique, quand par exemple je lance un economiseur d'écran en openGL, c'est hyper lent comme si y'avait pas accélération 3D alors que beryl est super fluide... bizarre...

Suit a de multiple essai de mettre en place beryl avec une ati xpress 200M

voici en fait ce que j ai fait........
1 j ai remi en place le kermel 2.6.20.12 generic (ubuntu feisty gestinnaire de packet)

2 installation normal de fglrx puis xgl (tuto ubuntu)

3 installer beryl 2.0.1  mais la comme la plupar je me suis heurter a quelque probleme (dsl novice)

4 apres plusieur page de lecture sur le net je suis tomber sur cette commande :

---------------LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/fglrx/libGL.so.1.2.xlibmesa beryl--------------

5 demarer sur le serveur xgl puis activer beryl (si ça ne fonctionne pas ouvert terminal de commande puis entrer la commande .

6 au cas ou echec editer ---sudo gedit .beryl-managerrc----- puis modifier render_path=0
mettre 2 a la place du 0

voila j espere que cela vous aidera.
