Pilote libre mieux que le pilote propriétaire ?

Bonsoir,

Voila j'ai une question et un problème :

Les pilotes libres (intégré dans Ubuntu 6.10) sont'il mieux que le pilote propriétaire d'ATI ?

Parceque lorsque que j'avais fait un "glxgears -printfps" (sans aucune application en cours) avec un install toute fraîche d'Ubuntu, donc le pilote libre, j'avais un FPS au alentours de 1700.0 . Mais maintenant avec les pilotes prioritaire, j'ai un FPS "pourri" autour de 500.0 .

Donc, je voudrais savoir comment savoir si le pilote utilise le port PCI ou AGP car ma carte graphique est sur le port AGP et donc peut-être que le problème vient de là. Pourtant les jeux comme Nexuiz fonctionne très bien avec les paramètres maximal.

J'ai aussi remarqué que XGL + Beryl ralentissait mon PC (3.20 ghz quand même cool ) et que peut-être que c'est a cause du problème ci-dessus (je me suis dit que peut-être que c'est le PC qui calcule à la place de la carte graphique ce qui provoque le ralentissement)

Une autre question : ce test est t'il fiable, j'ai aussi remarqué que le fps augmente vers les 4000.0 quand j'utilise firefox pendant le test.

C'est normale...........docteur ?

glxgears n'est absolument pas fiable, il ne faut jamais lui faire confiance. C'est plutot "ca marche / ca marche pas".

Le vrai test c'est de tourner un jeu, et de voir ce que ca donne. Chez moi en tout cas, les drivers proprio donnent debien meilleurs resultats.

Bon, j'avoue qu'avec les drivers libres, Nexuiz est tout décolorisé; et avec le drivers proprio le jeu est normale.

Mais pourquoi avec le drivers libres le test me donne plus de FPS qu'avec le drivers proprio ?

On ne le dira jamais assez : glxgears ne montre rien d'autre que des roues qui tournent. rien. du tout.
