mounting root file system : installation hangs
when installing ubuntu the file system hangs when it reaches
Mounting root file system.
I tried the cd on another computer and it works fine.
I'm using the 6.01
I went back and tried the version 5 of ubuntu which as you all may remember has a debian installation phase.
This cd fails at the cdrom detection level.
Aparently the cdrom isnot mouted.
Is there any way to bypass this.
Thanks

Re : mounting root file system : installation hangs
I've exactly the same problem even on a brand new PC without any other OS installed. i've tried the alternate version as well.
This is strange since the CD-rom device is the one used for the install and ubuntu is detected there in the first place.
