Pour test sur une des 2 machines je suis passé sous dapper mais meme chose....Egalement avec les news drivers Nvidia

Moi aussi, j'ai ce probleme avec ma carte nvidia FX 5200. Impossible de lancer nvidia-settings. J'ai les erreurs suivantes :
ERROR: NV-CONTROL extension not found on this Display.
ERROR: Unable to determine number of NVIDIA GPUs on ':1.0'.
ERROR: Unable to determine number of NVIDIA Frame Lock Devices on ':1.0'.
Pourtant, je lance sans aucune difficulté XGL avec compiz. J'ai amélioré la vitesse en configurant correctement l'AGP.
En fait, il semble que le support openGL soit bien chargé :
En tapant dans une console
xdpyinfo | grep GLX
cela me retourne
GLX
SGI-GLX
au lieu de
GLX
NV-GLX
Je crois donc que le driver openGL pris en compte n'est pas le bon (alors d'où vient-il ?), ou alors il est mal reconnu. Je ne sais pas dans quelle mesure cela affecte les performances globales de l'affichage.
En tout cas, à par quelques exceptions (dont nvidia-settings), cela n'entraine aucune instabilité ni plantage (je fonctionne comme cela depuis la dernière maj du kernel et/ou du driver nvidia, soit 15 jours).
Si quelqu'un a la solution pour remédier à cela, je suis partant ;-)
