Ubuntu Payant ?

Je Reve ou j'ai choisi une distribution qui se veux libre deja par son nom et qui deviendra payante
Si d'ici peu ca devient payant autant que je passe directement a OpenSuse
C'est vrai ca ??

C'est Mark Shuttleworth, lui-même, qui le dit dans une interview sur channelregister :
"Mr Shuttleworth also has a distant intention, somewhere in the future, of recouping some of the $10m a year he funnels into Ubuntu, and trying to turn it into some kind of profitable business." ... "We are in this delicate transition phase from being something that's entirely community orientated to something that has this professional wing. So that's something that we have to steer very carefully."

Arrivera donc un moment où il faudra mettre la main à la poche pour utiliser Ubuntu. Cette distribution ne demeurera pas éternellement 100% communautaire et basée sur le pur bénévolat. Comme pour les sociétés Red Hat, SuSE, Mandriva, la distribution devra apporter de l'argent.

En fait, c'est logique ! Distribution GNU/Linux ou pas, la distribution devra bien s'autofinancer sans devoir compter perpétuellement sur la solidité financière du créateur initial. Fut-il milliardaire ! Car, en effet, il faut bien payer les développeurs, l'infrastructure elle-même.

Un mythe qui s'écroule ? Pour ceux qui vivent (à priori) de l'air du temps ;-)

Reste à savoir sous quelle forme Ubuntu sera financée, quelles modifications à la clé ?
