Problème de pilotes pour carte savage unichrome

Bonjour,

Je suis sur un portable packard bell, avec un chipset s3 unichrome intégré sur carte mère VIA.

Voulant activer l'accélération 3D qui ne l'était apparemment pas, j'ai essayé d'installer des pilotes DRI, trouvé dans un sombre coin du forum. Installation par un joli petit script, qui a part une ou deux erreur a la fin s'est bien passé. le xglgears tournait bien.

Mais ça fait pas mal ramer l'ordi, genre pendant le chargement d'une page dans firefox, la souris rame, ou impossible d'utiliser zsnes tellement il rame, et l'acceleration pas réellement intégrée dans les jeux.

Donc soit comment installer un vrai pilote qui marche bien pour mon ordi?
Ou encore comment au moins rétablir les pilotes d'origine? (car zsnes marchait trés bien au moins au départ, l'accélération se serait juste un bonus) J'ai essayé en réinstallant les paquets liés a sacage da,s synaptic mais ça ne résoud rien.

dans mon xorg.conf j'ai essayé de jongler entre vesa et via a la ligne driver, mais c'est la même chose. Et le serveur plante quand j'essaye savage.

ls *.backup

ben, euh, elles marchent pas tes commandes, /etc/X11/xorg.conf est âs un répertoire, et si jeme place seulement dans /etc/X11/ la seconde mefait "Aucun fichier ou répertoire de ce type" ...

Oui tu as raison, le xorg.conf est de trop.

Mais j'ai la reponse à ma quetion. Tu n'as pas de backup de ton xorg (= pas de *.backup d'ou le message "Aucun fichier ou répertoire de ce type" .

Pour un "vrai driver", je sais pas, mais pour revenir à ta config de base, tu peux faire :

Tout d'abord une sauvegarde de ton xorg actuel :

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.backup

En cas de problème, tu pourras revenir en arrière avec :

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.backup /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Ensuite, pour reconfigurer ton xorg, tape ceci :

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

et réponds aux questions (rien de bien sorcier)

puis relance ton interface graphique avec :

startx
