Modem Bewan Ethernet avec abonnement Orange

Bonsoir,

J'ai installé Ubuntu avec succès depuis un live CD.

Je n'y connais pas grand chose, j'ai vu une procédure de configuration internet pour le modem Bewan Adsl Ethernet mais pour Tele2, or je suis passée chez Orange et je continue à utiliser ce modem depuis quelques années maintenant (sans problèmes).

Quelqu'un saurait-il m'indiquer la procédure dans mon cas ? N'hésitez pas à entrer dans les détails car je ne connais pas du tout Ubuntu.

Comme on me l'a conseillé je vous mets plus de détails :

Alors en fait, d'après l'icône représentant 2 écrans (sous Linux, dans la barre des taches du haut) je suis connectée...
sauf que rien ne marche, c'est à dire : firefox n'ouvre aucune page (j'ai tenté de mettre "détection automatique du proxy" dans les réglages de firefox, sans succès) ; pidgin n'arrive pas non plus à me connecter, ni evolution.

J'ai essayé de suivre des procédures trouvé dans l'aide Ubuntu, celle concernant la connexion par pppoe :

dans le terminal j'ai tapé pppoeconf, au final, j'ai un message qui dit en gros que ça ne marche pas

je n'ai pas de soucis avec les câbles.

A tout hasard, j'ai quand même essayé la commande indiqué pour lancer la connexion via le terminal, il s'est mis à m'afficher plein de symboles pendant au moins 5mn, résultat : pas de connexion.

J'ai suivi la procédure pour le cas où il ne détecte pas le concentrateur, au final, à la dernière commande pour lancer la connexion; il me met :

plugin rp-pppoe.so loaded

mais je n'ai pas de connexion malgré tout.

si quelqu'un a une idée...

Sur ton conseil, j'ai débranché mon modem, lancé Ubuntu puis rebranché le modem. L'icône de connexion me dit alors que je suis connectée et pourtant :

J'ai essayé Auto Ethernet sans succès non plus. J'ai bien sûr essayé de lancer diverses adresses internet. Voici ce que j'ai en clic droit sur l'icône de connexion :

"Enable Networking" est bien coché.

If an alternative boot into Microsoft windows can be done, do mouse
clicks on:
   Start > Settings > Control Panel > Classical View (for Window XP) > System
> Hardware > Device Manager > Modems > Click on the + > Modem. Double click to
expand the graphic. Manufacturer information may be displayed. For example, CXT
stands for Conexant. Click the Diagnostics Tab. Record any hardware ID or vendor
and device information. From the Driver Details TAB, copy out the VENdor and DEVice information.
Next do the Query Modem and record the ATI specifications displayed such as:

Try to identify the modem setup file, with name perhaps MODEM.INF.
If may contain chipset Vendor informaton.

The base of the UDEV device file system is: /dev/.udev

Versions adequately match for the compiler installed: 4.3.2
             and the compiler used in kernel assembly: 4.3.2

The patch utility is needed and is needed for compiling ALSA drivers, and possibly others.

Minimal compiling resources appear complete:
   make utility - /usr/bin/make
   Compiler version 4.3
   linuc_headers base folder /lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/build

However some compilations and executable functions may need additional files,
in the FileNames.h (so called kernel "h"eaders) collection installed in  /usr/include/ .
For martian_modem, additional required packages are needed. The also required headers of package libc6 are commonly installed by default.
Compiling hsfmodem drivers does require linux-libc-dev and libc6-dev packages, for kernels 2.6.24 and later versions.
In not included on your install CD, search for them at http://packages.ubuntu.com
or comparable Repository for other Linux distros.
When compiling ALSA drivers, the utility "patch" will also be needed.

If a driver compilation fails, with message including some lack of some FileName.h (stdio.h for example), then
Some additional kernel-header files need installation to /usr/include. The minimal additional packages are libc6-dev
and any of its dependents, under Ubuntu linux-libc-dev

If an alternate ethernet connection is available,
$  apt-get update
