PB boot windows
Bonjour, après avoir décidé de me passer de windows et de m'en tenir à Ubuntu, j'ai du réinstaller windows pour continuer de jouer sous pc (souci de simplification). J'ai donc réinstaller windows sur mon deuxième disque dur et j'ai perdu ubuntu au boot. J'ai donc suivi le tutoriel de restauration de grub pour pouvoir le sélectionner au lancement et depuis je ne parviens plus à lancer windows.

Salut,
Si ton Windows est sur le 2e disque, c'est loupé, car c'est une partition étendue !
C'est quelle partition qui contient Windows : sda3 ou sdb6 ?
Edit : Télécharge ceci sur ton bureau puis saisis (ou copier-coller) ceci dans un terminal
sudo bash ~/Bureau/boot_info_script*.sh
Poste en entier le fichier texte RESULTS.txt que tu trouveras sur ton bureau.

Bonjour,
Je ne suis pas chez moi de la semaine donc je ne pourrai te donner le résultat de la commande qu'à partir de vendredi soir. Concernant le windows, il est effectivement sur mon deuxième disque qui est une partition étendue : c'est la partition sdb5 en FAT32. Merci de la réponse rapide cela dit.

Fail : Windows ne sait pas booter depuis une partition étendue. Ça ne pourra donc pas fonctionner

Aïe OK, mais pourrais-tu m'expliquer pourquoi je bootais dessus jusqu'à temps que je fasse la restauration de Grub sur la première partition de mon premier disque dur {(hd0,0) en suivant le tutoriel de restauration de Grub, commande find /boot/grub/stage1} ?

Peut être tout simplement parcequ'Xp est installé non sur le deuxième disque mais sur le premier (/dev/sda3)
Pour en être sûr édite menu.lst :
sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
et en fin de fichier tu ajoutes ceci :
title Windows Xp
root (hd0,2)
chainloader +1
Et aussi, en début de ce même fichier, mets en commentaire la ligne :
# hiddenmenu

Selon ce que je vois, tu confirmes mes soupçons : Windows est sur sda3, donc modifie ton fichier menu.lst selon les instructions de jeanjd63 en post #6. Les lignes sont à rajouter impérativement après ### END DEBIAN AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST
Si tu as également installé Windows en sdb6 (edit : ce serait même en sdb5 apparemment), tu pourras re-formater et récupérer les partitions pour en faire autre chose : Windows ne sait pas démarrer sur une partition étendue.
