fichier locale non pris en compte

Bonjour à toutes et tous!

J'ai un petit souci au niveau de la langue, sous Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS. Il semblerait que mon fichier /etc/default/locale ne soit pas pris en compte. Voici son contenu:

En fait, j'aimerais que lorsque je lance la commande date, celle-ci s'affiche en français, car pour l'instant, voici le retour:

Thu Jun 20 12:33:52 CEST 2024

Parce que sous Drupal, apparemment, ce sont les dates du serveur qui s'affichent. Et pour l'instant, elles s'affichent en anglais, du coup. J'aimerais qu'elles s'affichent en français. Si quelqu'un pouvait m'aider! Car même après un locale-gen et un reboot, rien ne change...

Essaie :

sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales

Bonjour Nany et merci.
Oui! J'avais essayé ça aussi! J'ai bien choisi "fr_FR.UTF-8" dans la liste et rebooté le serveur (et je viens de le refaire, au cas où!), mais rien ne change non plus.
Par contre, j'ai bien les "Annuler" en français, par exemple. Et je si je choisis breton dans la liste, j'ai bien "Nullañ" à la place de "Annuler"... Mais quoi je fasse, la commande locale est vide et date en anglais...

Bonjour et merci!

Malheureusement, cela ne change rien. Dans locale.gen, j'ai bien fr_FR décommenté (et uniquement celui-ci, au passage). Malgré cela, la commande locale continue de me donner des variables vides ou "POSIX"... Ce qui, je suppose, veut dire qu'il prendra une langue par défaut (l'anglais, en l’occurrence).
Je remets mes différents retours, au cas où...

(ce qui me fait penser justement qu'en lançant la commande date toute seule, ma configuration n'est prise en compte)

J'avoue que je ne trove nulle part une piste pour faire quelque chose de plus...

Il semblerait donc que la configuration soit prise en compte, mais uniquement pour l'utilisateur root! Du coup, ma question se précise: comment appliquer ce même langage à un autre utilisateur? www-data, en l'occurence, pour que ça s'affiche comme il faut sur mon site Drupal. Malheureusement, cette dernière commande ne fonctionne pas:

Il fallait entrer le contenu de /etc/default/locale dans ~/.profile (avec "export" en début de chaque ligne).

Ainsi:

Youpi! Par contre, sur mon site Drupal, les mois sont toujours en anglais... Peut-être que ça vient de Drupal, finalement! Je vais creuser ça!
