Dual Boot sur ACER A517-51G-54G6 [RÉSOLU]
Salut à tous,
Je viens d'acheter un nouveau PC et je suis perdu parmi les tutos et conseils d'installation. J'ai déjà installé ubuntu sur un ancien PC il y a 7 ou 8 ans, mais avec le nouveau Windows (j'ai windows 10) et le système UEFI je ne m'y retrouve plus.
J'ai besoin de quelques conseils pour démarrer. Tout d'abord, sur quelle partition je dois installer ubuntu pour fonctionner en dual boot. Actuellement je vois une partition (disque?) C (elle même découpée) et une D et je n'avais pas ça avant sur mon vieux PC...
Et le redimensionnement du disque doit-il se faire sous windows ou à l'installation d'ubuntu?
Et comment je fais avec cette histoire de UEFI?
Bref je suis paumé pour démarrer en fait...

J'ai trouvé les caractéristiques de ton modèle A517-51G-54G6 sur cette page : http://www.1foteam.com/produit-119897-O … -Noir.html
On y voit qu'il a un processeur Intel Core i5-7200U et une carte graphique dédiée NVIDIA GeForce 940MX
La première des choses à faire, c'est de réaliser un support Live (une LiveUSB de préférence ou bien un LiveDVD) avec Ubuntu 16.04.3 64 bits (*) dessus en vue de faire un essai sans installer. Pour parvenir à démarrer l'ordi sur ton support Live de Ubuntu, tu pourras utiliser cette technique proposée par Bougron : https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.p … #p20542461
Tu devras également ajouter le paramètre de noyau nomodeset comme j'explique dans ce post : https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.p … #p11528561
Si tu parviens à faire une session live (choix "Try Ubuntu without Installing"), je te prie de faire un Boot-Info depuis cette session live et de donner l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse. Cela permettra de vérifier qu'il n'y a pas de souci pour envisager l'installation et de te donner quelques conseils.
(*) le fichier ISO de cette version s'appelle ubuntu-16.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso et il est téléchargeable à cette adresse : http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/xen … -amd64.iso
Quand tu auras téléchargé cet ISO, si tu décides de réaliser une LiveUSB (c'est mieux qu'un LiveDVD) tu pourras utiliser UNetbootin depuis Windows 10 en suivant la procédure Créer une clé usb-live Ubuntu à partir d'une image ISO précédemment téléchargée ou bien tu pourras utiliser Rufus (également depuis Windows 10). Mais je trouve que ce dernier n'est pas facile à utiliser pour un novice : si tu peux lire l'anglais, ce "pas à pas" pour Rufus est pas mal : https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/t … -windows#0

C'est parfait et rien ne semble s'opposer à la cohabitation de Windows et Ubuntu dans cette machine. Cela dit, il y a deux façons de procéder (moi je prendrais la première) :
1) faire maigrir un peu la partition C: de Windows 10 afin de dégager une zone non-allouée d'environ 20 Go dans laquelle tu pourras installer Ubuntu. Avantage de cette solution : comme Ubuntu sera sur le SSD, il va bénéficier de la rapidité d'un SSD
Inconvénient : il faut toucher au partitionnement de Windows et il y a toujours un risque quand on touche au partitionnement.
2) faire maigrir un peu la partition Data qui se trouve sur le disque dur de 1 To afin de dégager une zone non-allouée pour installer Ubuntu dedans.
Avantage : ta partition Data étant actuellement quasiment vide, ça ne gênera pas du tout de libérer quelques 20 Go pour Ubuntu
Inconvénient : Ubuntu sur le disque dur, ce sera plus lent que s'il était sur le SSD mais ce ne sera pas non plus une limace.
A toi de choisir la solution que tu préfères. Quel que soit ton choix, moi ou un autre aidant, on saura te guider pour que tu réussisses mais dis-nous quelle solution tu vas prendre afin qu'on puisse te donner quelques conseils supplémentaires avant install.

Merci pour votre retour.
Oui, clairement je préfère la première solution. J'ai changé de PC car l'ancien devenait poussif pour faire du montage vidéo. Donc autant faire en sorte que ça tourne le plus vite possible.
Donc je veux bien un petit coup de pouce pour faire la maigrir la partition C. J'ai vu des tutos où la manip se fait dans Windows et d'autres sur l'installateur. Je ne sais pas quoi choisir et je ne suis pas trop sûr de moi non plus...
Autre question : peut-on aller au delà de 20 Go pour Ubuntu ? Windows ne sera utilisé que très rarement dans mon cas...

Oui bien sûr. Mais pour arriver à faire maigrir Windows jusqu'à l'os, il faut lui rentrer dans le lard. Dans ce post (ici), je donne des "mesures à prendre pour aider Windows 8 à faire maigrir le disque C: ". Elles sont applicables aussi pour W10. Fais bien tout ce qui est proposé comme mesures à prendre sinon tu n'arriveras pas à faire maigrir W10 sachant que la réduction de la taille de C: , ça se fait depuis la gestion des disques de Windows. Comme il a le pouvoir, W10 essaie toujours d'en garder sous le coude (des Go) et il faut le forcer à les lâcher.

Bonjour
Lorsque tu booteras avec windows tu supprimeras l'hibernation avec la commande suivante à faire en mode administratif
powercfg /hibernate off
Tu lances la defragmentation et tu lui demande de se rétrécir. Il se divisera par 2 sans difficultés.
J'ai vu ta structure de disque.

Je pense que tu auras besoin d'aide pour populer SDC1. Mais c'est après que l'installation soit finie qu'il faudra regarder.

Utiliser REFIND au lieu du GRUB https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/refind . Aidez à vous faire dépanner en suivant le guide et en utilisant les outils de diagnostic J'ai perdu ma gomme. Désolé pour les fautes d'orthographes non corrigées.

Salut!!
J'ai fait les manips pour réduire la partition Windows de 40Go. L'installation s'est bien passée (là je suis sous Ubuntu). Je n'ai pas essayé de redémarrer sous Windows pour voir si il n'y a pas de soucis. Je tiendrai compte de vos remarques "??" lorsque je ferai le test.

Si c'est fait, tu devrais avoir coché "Utilisation de NVIDIA binary Driver" comme sur cette vue. Est-ce bien le cas ?
