devrait resoudre le problème au relancement du serveur son (reboot?)

mmmmh il me semble qu'il est déja loadé. Peut être qu'en le loadant en premier. Faut voir.
Moi je vérifierai dans le BIOS que tu as bien ta carte audio activée. Et que le volume sonore est monté
Faut dire que "je n'ai pas de son." ne nous aide franchement pas.
Les logiciels refusent de jouer ?
S'ils jouent c'est qu'ils ont un périphériques de sortie, alors peut être qu'il faut regarder de plus prêt les volumes sonores (Général/PCM etc..)

Je viens de vérifier et ma carte son et bien configuré dans mon bios.
Et le son est monté.
Je viens d'installé xmms et il me mets ce message d'erreur:
Veuiller vérifier que:
1. Votre carte son est correctement configurée
2.Vous avec sélectionné le plugin de sortie correct
3.Aucun autre programme ne bloque la carte son
De plus il me semble que lorsque ubuntu se met en route il y a du son or je n'en ai aucun

Apparamment tu as une carte télé... le module son pour celle-ci doit être chargé avant ta carte son ce qui l'empêche d'être reconnue comme premier périqhérique de lecture
J'ai lu quelque part sur le bugzilla une manip du genre :
dans /etc/modutils/alsa-base
ajouter à la fin
option snd-bt87x index=-2
Tiens nous au courant
... enfin peut-être.

J'ai l'impression qu'il s'agit de la commande lspci, si c'est le cas, voici ce qu'elle donne (entre autres) :

J'ai fait ça :
