Imprimantes port série

Bonjour.

afin de faire découvrir Ubuntu à mes anciens patron, je leur ai proposé de transformer leur système actuel (2 type différent pour une même application conçu pour ms-dos), en équipant les poste (serveur/client) avec ubuntu.

Pour le premier système celui-ci se compose d'un serveur netware 4.11 et 5 poste client qui accède à l'application DOS partagé sur le serveur. je n'ai pas encore trouvé comment changer.

Pour le 2ème système (plus facile) 2 poste sous win98 avec compatibilité netbios, un serveur de fichier + client sur le même poste avec 3 imprimantes, l'autre simplement client avec une base 98.

Après de nombreuse recherche et essai, j'ai fini par installer les 2 poste sous  Ubuntu en émulant les Win 98 avec Virtualbox sur chaque poste. Ce qui reviens finalement à la solution de départ, mais en permettant un accès a Ubuntu et toutes ses possibilité.

Le système est plutôt stable et finalement fonctionne  sans trop de configuration. seulement il reste un soucis pour les imprimantes.

le serveur possède un seul port imprimante (sur lequel est branché un switch) sur lequel sont les 2 première imprimantes. Celle ci se sont retrouvé détécté et installé très facilement par la fenetre de configuration de cups. les 2 sont fonctionnel.

Pour la 3eme imprimante celle-ci fonctionne en port série. La configurattion d'origine n'en possédant pas, j'ai donc ajouté une carte pci - série (2 port) afin de brancher cette dernière ainsi que le tirroir caisse, qui lui aussi fonctionne en port série.

Mais voila, j'ai parcourru la doc et le net, et je n'ai rien trouvé sur le fonctionnement des port séries sous Ubuntu.
Mon imprimante ou mon tirroir caisse branché, il n'y as aucune réaction du système et cups ne me propose aucun choix proposant ces ports.

C'est pourquoi je viens ici demander un peu d'aide, pour la première fois depuis que j'utilise Ubuntu, alors qu'aucun de mes problème n'est jamais resté sans solution.

ok je passe les voir cette après midi.
mais il me semble que j'avais essayé (déduit de lsusb) et je ne crois pas que j'avais  tiré une information suffisante je crois que ça parle seulement du chipset
ça doit etre mp61 je crois.
mais je ferais de toute façon un copier-coller si ça peut aider :s

Rebonjour, j'ai bien effectué les commandes que tu m'as demandé, mais n'ayant pas de connexion internet sur le pc (et oublié ma clé usb neutral) je n'ai pas pu joindre un copier-coller donc je vais tenter de faire ça rapidement quand même. sinon as tu vraiment besoin de tout ça pour ma réponse sachant que ça fait vraiment un gros bloc de texte a coller. Sinon pour la commande dmesg j'ai bien noté la presence de port serie reconnu sur /dev/ttys0 et ttys1
Lors d'un premier essai j'avais d'ailleur essayé dans cups de déclarer l'imprimante comme epson://dev/ttys0 (basé sur l'imprimante port imprimante de même gamme)
pour info les imprimantes sont des imprimantes ticket (de caisse) de modèlle
tm-u220a pour la port imprimante et
tm-u220b pour la port série.

même sur le site d'epson je n'ai rien trouvé concernant les imprimantes "thermique" donc encore moin sur ces modèle précis.
Elle sont assez ancienne et je n'ai pas trouvé non plus d'archive de pilote.

Voila je te tiens au courrant des que j'ai les logs a poster.

euh y'as pas de série d'origine. y'as que un ltp.
c'est pourquoi j'ai ajouté une carte pci.
j'ai récup le disque dur je dois aller le mettre dans une tour vite fais pour récup les log.

Bon voila question application, plus aucun probleme.
et puis a dire vrai dans ce post j'ai un peu tout mélangé
alors je viens reposer ma question.

Quelqu'un sais-t-il comment on fais fonctionner une imprimante sur port série?

Je suis sous Gusty, les port série sont tout 2 affiché dans information sur le matériel dans la partie PCI.

L'imprimante fonctionne bien sous win98 donc elle n'est pas en panne.
Et mes commandes sont affiché au dessus.

J'ai essayé la solution epson:/dev/ttyS1 et S2
lorsque je tente de mettre le s2, il se remet automatiquement sur s1 quand je lance la détéction.

L'imprimante apparement est bien détécté mais aucune impression n'arrive, sur la file cela reste noté en en cours de traitement.
