Probléme "freeze" d'ubuntu 13.10

Bonjour, depuis quelques temps déjà mon ordinateur freeze régulièrement Cela arrive souvent lorsque je regarde une vidéo en streaming. J'ai réinstaller ubuntu mais rien n'y fait.
Lorsque ça freeze, Il m'est impossible d'interagir avec les fenêtres puis la souris finit par ne plus bouger au bout de 30 secondes environ. Je suis obligé d'éteindre l'ordinateur en restant appuyer sur le bouton. Peut il s'agir d'un probleme de compatibilité avec la carte graphique par exemple ?
( je suis complètement débutant sur linux )

J'ai également eu des gros problèmes de ralentissements quand je suis passé à la version 13.10.
Je te conseille d'essayer d'installer la version 12.04 qui est beaucoup plus stable. Pour moi tout est rentré dans l'ordre

Merci de ton conseil mais justement je pensais que les problèmes que je rencontrais sur la 12.04 serraient corrigé en installant la 13.10, il n'en ai rien. Je pense que je dois avoir des problèmes de compatibilité avec des pilotes. Cependant je n'y connais rien et je ne sais pas quoi faire étant donné que ça devient de plus en plus fréquent.

De quelle carte graphique disposes-tu ?
Pour le savoir :
lspci -v -s `lspci | awk '/VGA/{print $1}'`

Je dispose d'une Geforge GTX 280 de nvidia

Donc tu peux tenter ceci :
sudo apt-get remove 'nvidia-*'     ce qui va supprimer les drivers nvidia
puis tu les réinstalles par un :
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

En tapant la première commande le terminal m'indique pour chaque paquet qu'ils ne sont pas installé. Le probleme vient surement de la.
Je vais donc les installer et voir ce que ça donne.

La commande :
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current   va les installer.  Ensuite il faudra faire un :
sudo  nvidia-xconfig  pour créer/modifier le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Même problème sur la plupart des vidéos, avec un ventilo qui tourne à fond et une bonne chauffe sur MSI CR610 sous Ubuntu 13.10 ...

La commande :

C'est un Intel HD 4000 ... CPU Intel B970 ... Si c'est pas possible à corriger je retourne sur Windows ...

Je précise que j'utilise la fonction de Unity Tweak qui permet de n'afficher la barre latérale que quand on passe la souris sur la gauche de l'écran.

EDIT 2 : Ya un bugwatch ici, je ne suis pas le seul concerné on dirait ...
