pb résolution à moitié résolu... en changeant de distribution!?
Salut à tous.
Je suis débutant sous UBUNTU mais franchement je trouve ça exceptionnel.
Je n'ai plus qu'un pb de résolution.
Je suis sur un portable TOSHIBA Satellite M60-154 avec une carte ATI Mobility X700
Sous UBUNTU ma résolution ne dépasse pas 1024x768, ce qui m'aplatit les images (ce qui fait du coup prendre 3kg à ma fille lorsque je la regarde en photo... alors qu'elle n'en pèse que 8!!!)
j'ai essayé Mandriva spring, et là j'arrive à passer en 1440x900 (la résolution optimale de l'ordinateur selon TOSHIBA)
J'ai donc essayé de copier tout ou partie du xorg.conf de mandriva sur le xorg.conf d'ubuntu.
Mais ça coince : ça plante le redémarrage d'ubuntu.
Que me conseillez vous de faire?

pour modifier le xconf je l'édite sous un live de mandriva je l'enregistre puis je relance l'ordi.
Est ce comme cela qu'il faut procéder??

Alors en ce qui concerne la résolution de la résolution de l'écran tout se passe dans la section Screen du fichier xorg.conf.
Tu constateras donc qu'entre tes deux fichiers, il y a une différence flagrante.
Sous Ubuntu, deux possiblités pour régler ton problème :
-soit tu édites à la main le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf en rajoutant les fréquences qui vont bien.
- soit tu passes par
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorget ça te permettra de choisir (touche espace) les résolutions disponibles.
Voilà, sinon pour reconfigurer complètement le serveurX la commande est
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorgVoilà, à+

j'ai déjà essayé et lorsque je choisis ensuite 1440x900 ça me fait des lignes noires de partout
bref cela ne fonctionne pas
Une fois édité il faut faire quelque chose de spécial? Relancer qualque chose?

même réponse: déjà essayé mais hélas ça ne me fait que des lignes noires sur la partie gauche et j'ai du mal à revenir à la résolution précédente

Alors il se trouve qu'après nouvelle analyse de tes deux fichiers xorg.conf, on peut noter que tu utilises sous ubuntu le driver "ati" alors que sous mandriva tu utilises le driver propriétaire fglrx.
Donc pour installer le pilote fglrx sous Ubuntu le plus simple c'est d'aller dans Système-->Administration-->Gestionaire de pilotes propriétaires (sous Feisty) sinon passes par Synaptic pour trouver le pilote fglrx.
Après cette installation tu peux ajouter à la main les options que tu as sous Mandriva (section Device du xorg.conf). Ensuite pour que tout cela fonctionne il faudra que tu redémares le serveurX (Ctrl+Alt+Backspace).
