ecran noir aprés install driver Nvidia Geforce MX 440 (feisty)

Bonjour,

Je viens d'installer Feisty sur mon portable, pas de pb à l'install.

J'ai voulu installer les drivers Nvidia pour ma Geforce MX 440, et là catastrophe, je suis passé par l'outil d'installation de pilotes proprio, tout s'installe correctement et au redemarrage : écran noir, j'ai édité le xorg.conf, tout est normal, j'ai supprimé les pilotes, recompilé les .run et même problème.

Au secours !! en fait tout fonctionne tant que je n'utilise pas les pilotes proprio. Quelqu'un a une solution ?? parce que là je n'ai pas d'accélération matérielle.

C'est une carte un peu ancienne, il ne faut pas installer les tous derniers drivers je crois: Sous forme de paquets ubuntu, il faut prendre nvidia-glx-legacy (= version 7184 du .run) et non nvidia-glx-new (=version 9755 du .run)

Edit: c'est une anerie, elle n'est pas si ancienne et supporte les nouveaux pilotes...

Tu as des erreurs (lignes contenant (EE) ou (WW) ) dans le /var/log/xorg.0.log ?

Merci de ton aide, en fait j'ai déjà essayé les trois pilotes (glx, legacy et new) et aucun ne marche, à chaque fois que je relance X j'ai un écran noir alors que tout à l'air de se charger !

là j'y perds mon latin.

Idem pour moi avec une 6600 GT (pourtant classique !)
Normalement je dois utiliser le nvidia-glx-new mais dès que je l'active en remplaçant "nv" par "nvidia", écran noir avec curseur qui clignote en haut à gauche au démarrage de X ...
Quelle galère ces pilotes graphiques !
Le plus étonnant c'est que ça marchait pendant un temps : j'ai même utilisé compiz sans problème, et du jour au lendemain plus rien ne marche sans faire aucune modif (c'est ça le plus étonnant !)
Enfin je continue à chercher, mais je ne vois pas ce qui foire.
Mon xorg.conf est des plus classiques (je n'ai même pas activé de sortie TV) ...

essaye avec envy j'ai aussi uen 440 mais moi c'est les freeeze de la part des pilotes nvidia

j'ai un toshiba portable en dual boot et depuis que j'ai une mise a jour de la carte nvidia geforce4 420  j'ai l'ecran noir mais il y le son de l'ouverture de Ubuntu et je peut aller sur le terminal.sur windows ca fonctionne sans probleme et avec le live cd aussi.

peut-on faire quelque chose?
peut-etre on peut faire une modif avec le live cd?

Regarde avec le terminal s'il n'y a pas des erreurs dans le /var/log/Xorg.0.log ou le /home/toto/.xsession-errors

et j'ai aussi pour /var/log/Xorg.0.log :
pas de permission-e

je pense que le mieux c'est de reinstaller Ubuntu

j'ai aussi le même problème, depuis ma migration vers feisty le serveur x plante à l'install du driver glx

sous edgy tout fonctionnait bien mais là plus rien.
autre précisin: si j'installe les legacy je vois le logo au démarrage mais cependant même message d'erreur pour l'accélération 3D.
  Si quelqu'un a une solution????....

Sinon pour retrouver un serveur x tu peux taper dans un terminal

  sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserveur-xorg et te laisser guider, pas besoin de tout réinstaller

Bon ben je vois que je ne suis pas le seul à galèrer avec ça...

Je crois que là j'ai tout essayé, y compris envy et la réinstall, je ne sais donc pas ce que je vais faire, peut être repassé en version 6, qui elle fonctionnait, ou changer de distrib... C'est dommage mais je ne vois pas d'autre solution.

Si quelqu'un a une solution miracle de dernière minute, je suis preneur.

Il nous faudrait ton log de Xorg pour savoir d'où vient le problème, on n'est pas devins... Il se drouve dans /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

je précise que pour l'instant il n'y a aucun driver propriétaire installé car celui sensé être bon me plante le serveur x

oui mais le problème c'est que si j'installe le driver propriétaire je n'ai plus de x et du coup je ne saurai pas t'envoyer le log en terminal!! si c'est possible dit moi comment faire et je fais planter mon serveur pour toi wink

Tu mets le Xorg.conf qui fait planter, tu lance X.org. Quand ça a planté, tu recopies ton Xorg.0.log quelque part, disons dans ton $HOME, depuis un terminal:

cp /var/log/Xorg.0.log ~/

Ensuite tu mets un Xorg.conf qui marchouille (driver open-source ou vesa) et tu récupère le log dans ton $HOME

une question: est-ce possible que la version glx de feisty pour ma carte Geforce 4 420 ne soit pas supportée par cette même carte???
