[résolu] NVidia GeForce 8400M GS - 640x480px !
Bonjour,
sur un DELL Inspiron 1720, j'essaie d'installer les pilotes vidéo.
je me trouvais à l'origine avec une résolution maximale de 800x600px.
J'ai utilisé cet article pour m'aider.
Comme le dis la page Nvidia je suis obligé d'utiliser la version 100.14.11 en utilisant le .run d'Nvidia. Il n'y a rien dans les dépots qui focntionne avec cette carte.
J'ai donc un fichier NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.11-pkg1.run que je m'empresse d'exécuter. Je ferme le serveur X, arrête KDM, j'installe libc6-dev comme demandé par Nvidia. Je lance l'installation, je me retrouve avec cette erreur :

Apparemment, si je continue, tout s'installe correctement. Aucun message d'erreur autre que celui-là.
Je ferme, je redémarre. Au redémarrage, rien n'a changé, je fais un sudo nvidia-xconfig et redémarre X, la résolution maximale est maintenant de 640x480 (et inférieur, ça descend jusqu'à 300 pixels et quelques) !
Je n'ai aucun logo NVidia au démarrage de la session.
Dans Menu K > System > NVidia X Server Settings mon écran est effectivement reconnu comme ayant une résolution maximale de 640x480 pixels, je comprends mieux maintenant
J'ai tenté de restaurer la sauvegarde que j'avais faite de xorg.conf, le changement a été effectué mais je ne peux toujours pas augmenter la résolution d'écran, (et nvidia X Server settings me dit que j'utilise plus le driver Nvidia).
Quelqu'un peut-il m'aider svp ? Je suis perdu
Envy ne veut pas démarrer non plus (no module amed vte), et je voudrais bien installer les drivers

Je ne suis pas sûr que tu ait besoin des valeurs modeline. Je te fais une petite copie du mien pour comparer, adapte tout ça et remet les blocs dans l'ordre, ce sera plus lisible (device nvidia / monitor / screen). Apparament ton fichier prévoit un 2eme écran. N'hésite pas pour t'y retrouver à faire des copie de ton xorg.conf vers xorg.conf.20070815_0000 par exemple.

Ah, j'ai vu sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg dans ton xorg.conf, du coup j'ai exécuté
En sélectionnant le driver "nvidia" (pas nv !) et les résolutions souhaitées le serveur est configuré correctement, ..... avec le driver NVidia effectivement installé.
Du coup plus de souci !
