Avoir l'image sous X en DVI sans devoir laisser le D-Sub branché???

Voilà, j'ai un problème qui me prend à mourrir la tête: Je suis arrivé sans aucuns problèmes à tout installer, les nVidia.run, activer le DVI de ma 8800GTS 640Mo, j'ai été dans le panneau nVidia Settings, demandé d'activer un 2ème écran détecté en DVI (le même écran en fait, il a entrée DVI et D-Sub, tout est connecté à lui) et de désactiver le D-SUB.

Le DVI est activé, j'ai l'image nickelle, dans la résolution souhaitée, sans que le D-Sub ne fonctionne donc plus (testé en poussant sur le bouton "source" de mon écran, il n'y a rien en D-Sub).

J'ai une image disque avant et après l'installation des driver nVidia.run

Le problème: dès que je débranche mon câble D-Sub sans déplacer le Câble DVI pour ne plus avoir deux câbles branchés inutillement, je n'ai plus d'image sous Ubuntu, au démarrage de Grub oui, mais après plus du tout.

J'ai essayé en ajoutant une ligne option dfp à mon X-Org, rien n'y fait. Snif

J'ai XP sur un autre disque, je n'ai pas de multiboot, et lui vois aussi les deux écrans (le même) et ça me gonfle aussi à avoir à en désactiver un. De plus le DVI est en écran N°2 (grrr car dans le bios et tout autre application hors système déjà installé genre live cd ou utilitaire sur CD, je suis donc en D-Sub et c'est dégueulasse).

Que faire pour avoir le DVI sur la sortie 1 de ma 8800GTS et ne plus devoir laisser branché le câble D-Sub sur l'autre sortie.

Temporairement je serais déjà content de pouvoir simplement me passer du Câble D-Sub (ridicule redondance)
