Probleme boot grub error 8
Bonjour,
Je suis novice en linux.
J'ai voulu installé kubuntu à partir du CD envoyé par la poste.
J'ai disque : sur le premier, il y a XP et d'autres partitions NTFS
sur le second, j'ai partitions NTFS et j'ai créé pour linux partitions /, /swap et /home avec l'outil lors de l'install.
mais lorsque je boote j'ai :
Grub loading, stage 1.5
Grub loading, please wait...
Error 8
et ça s'arrète là !
Comment réparer ?

erreur 8:
8 : Kernel must be loaded before booting
Cette erreur est retournée si vous demandez à GRUB d'exécuter la séquence de démarrage sans avoir précisé de noyau à lancer.
la roue tourne...c'est sûr! c'est même pour ça qu'on l'a inventée.

toujours en live, si la partition contenant /
est /dev/hdb9, tape dans une console
mkdir /panne
sudo mount -o rw /dev/hdb9 /panne
Poste alors
cat /panne/boot/grub/menu.lst
ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid
cat /panne/etc/fstab
ls /panne/boot
puis tape
sudo grub
find /boot/grub/stage1 #donne le retour de cette commande
quit

c'est déja ça tout est correct.
Le problème est que ton disque a une capacité trop grande
par rapport à ce que ton bios peut gérer.
18 : Selected cylinder exceeds maximum supported by BIOS
Cette erreur est retournée quand une tentative de lecture est réalisée sur un bloc au-delà de ceux gérés par de BIOS. Elle se produit généralement si votre disque est plus grand que les limites du BIOS (512MO pour les disques (E)IDE sur les anciennes machines, ou plus de 8GO en général).
Pour cela je te laisse regarder mais
essaye ceci
sudo gedit /panne/boot/grub/menu.lst
un fichier s'ouvre (si tu es sous kubuntu, kdesu kate /panne/.......)
dans la section

tu dois avoir ceci

puis enregistres et redémarre, sinon
essaye hda=stroke aussi
Sinon
il faut faire ce qui est dit plus haut.

Le fichier /panne/boot/grub est totalement vide !
Faut-il copier seulement l'info que tu me donnes ?

non pas du tout.
donc tu dois faire
kdesu kate /panne/boot/grub/menu.lst
pour ouvrir le fichier

le problème venait de l'installation d'ubuntu dans une partie du disque non vue par le bios. Sous XP, no probleme !
Il faudra que ubuntu revoit sa copie à ce niveau.
comment marquer le titre avec résolu?... Il n'est pas accessible lors de la réponse mais seulement lors du premier post.

Au fait j'ai rien compris, tu as réinstallé ubuntu?
clique sur modifier au premier poste et rajoute résolu au titre

et tu ne peux pas modifier le titre car tu n'es pas inscrit
la roue tourne...c'est sûr! c'est même pour ça qu'on l'a inventée.
