Probleme Double Ecran avec Driver Libre sur ATi Radeon Mobility 9700

Bonjour,
J'essaye actuellement de configurer le double écran sur mon laptop Asus M6NE avec une ati radeon mobility 9700 en utilisant les drivers libres. Le deuxième ecran est un LCD viewsonic vx2025wm branché sur la prise VGA du portable.
J'ai suivi les les instructions de la première partie de cette page du wiki : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/materiel/multi-ecran

Mon problème est que le résultat que j'obtiens pour l'instant c'est que l'écran de mon portable se coupe et je n'ai que l'affichage que sur l'écran branché sur la prise VGA.
