[Résolu]Configuration du Xorg.conf et résolution bloquée en 800*600

Bonjour à tous.
J'utilise Windows depuis bien longtemps et dernièrement je me suis décidé à vraiment essayer linux.
Tous le monde sait que sous windows il suffit juste de faire un double clic sur le driver à installer, suivant, j'accepte, suivant, terminer. Alors que sous linux il est vrai que l'installation des drivers propriétaires Nvidia se fait a partir du menu Système mais que la configuration de la résolution se fait par le fameux "xorg.conf"...

Mon problème est que mon xorg.conf est parfaitement bien configuré... résolution que je désire avoir, fréquence de rafraichissement configurée aussi mais le seul gros problème, héhé c'est que Ubuntu ne veux pas me les afficher dans le menu "Résolution de l'écran"

Bref tout ca pour dire que ca fait environ une demi journée que j'essaye d'avoir une interface graphique correcte et pour l'instant ma conclusion est que rien ne vaut l'efficacité et la simplicité du clique droit sur le bureau de windows -> propriétés !

Colles le contenu de

sudo gedit /var/log/Xorg.0.Log

que l'on puisse voir ou il y a une erreur.

en gros impossible de valider aucun mode graphique, passage en résolution minimale.

Est-tu certain que 1600x1200 soit la résolution maximale supportée par ton écran ?

Essayes de relancer X (CTRL + ALT + backspace) après avoir commenté les lignes

    HorizSync    55-160
    VertRefresh    31-96

avec un #.

Si ça ne fonctionne pas mieux colles la nouvelle log Xorg.0.log ici.

Installes le paquet xresprobe via synaptic et envoies

sudo ddcprobe | grep monitorrange

dans un terminal. Cela te retourneas les fréquences verticales et horizontales de ton écran, ce qui te permettras de comparer avec celles que tu avais indiqué.

Pour info, ta carte video est bien une nvidia GeForce 6600 GT ?
Quel est ton écran (modèle, marque, etc) ?

J'aimerais juste faire un commentaire.

En préambule, mon écran n'a pas été reconnu correctement par Ubuntu, alors j'ai dû pendant l'installation ré-exécuter le script de détection automatique, mais en spécifiant moi-même les fréquences et les résolutions (beaucoup plus facile que d'éditer le xorg.conf en passant) pour avoir les bonnes résolutions et fréquences.

Ensuite, j'ai installé le pilote propriétaire NVidia par le panneau Gestionnaire des pilotes propriétaires. Et depuis, le panneau Résolution de l'écran de GNOME m'affiche des fréquences disponibles de 50 et 54 Hz qui n'ont aucun rapport avec la réalité, parce que mon écran lui-même rapporte via l'OSD que la résolution en cours est de 75 Hz, pas 50 Hz comme me dit GNOME. Ce que rapporte également le panneau NVidia X Server Settings (nvidia-settings).

GNOME va certainement pas chercher ces fréquences incorrectes dans le xorg.conf.

Mon commentaire: je suggère de désinstaller le pilote propriétaire pour revenir au pilote libre avant de faire les manipulations ci-dessus. C'est mon idée...

Et bien mes amis je viens de résoudre mon problème... après un sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg avec le choix de la frequence et de la résolution en mode non plus avancé mais medium....
Le bug de gnome est toujours présent mais ma résolution est bien en 1600*1200 et ma fréquence de rafraichissement en 75Hz

Pour résumer, et tu es loin d'être le seul (ça m'est arrivé tongue) dans ce cas hmm :

poser les questions le plus clairement possible
lire les réponses et questions et y répondre le plus clairement possible
quand on ne comprend pas (je suis tombé sur un geek neutral) reposer/redéfinir la question/réponse

Les taux de rafraichissement sont bien differents que dans ton premier xorg.conf!
Content de voir que tu as trouvé dpkg-reconfigure, sinon HorizSync    55-160 c'est fou! Heureusement que ça n'a rien endommagé ...

Un truc lorsque tu n'est pas sûr des bonnes valeurs: enlève-les!
Souvent le DPMS suffit à détecter automatiquement ton écran et ses paramètres. Pas besoin des taux.
