Résolu: Meilleure résolution avec ATI Radeon Mobility X1400

Il s´agit d´obtenir la résolution dont sont capables nos écrans. J´obtiens cette résolution sous Windows XP, mais pas sous Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft.

Ma configuration:
Ordinateur portable DELL Inspiron 6400 de mai 2006

La détection suivante a été effectuée sous Windows XP

Le manuel de DELL m´indique que la résolution de mon écran est de:
1280x800 en WXGA, ou
1680x1050 en WXGA+, avec une fréquence de balayage de 60 Hz.
Soit des rapports de dimensions d´écrans de 1.60

La résolution par défaut détectée par xorg est de 1024x768 - 85 Hz

J´ai essayé de nombreuses fois de reconfigurer xorg. Il apparaît que lorsque ATIest sélectionné au lieu de VESA ma machine est incapable de rebooter. Je dois revenir à la configuration initiale en mode console.

Le paquet xserver-xorg-video-ati est installé, et à la suite de la recommandation de PDemong, j´ai aussi installé le paquet 915resolution. Aurai-je progressé? Je le saurai la prochaine fois où je rebooterai.

Ci-après, copie de mon fichier xorg.conf en service:

Je n'ais pas de solution concrète à te proposer a part rapporter un bug sur Launchad au vu du problème que tu rencontre .

Essaie ça au pire :

Sauve ton xorg.conf

Teste les drivers libre radeon (met radeon à la place de ati à la section "device" puis force ta résolution/rafraîchissement en virant ça :

Si tu n'arrive toujours pas à quelques chose de concret, suis ce tuto pour mieux configurer le direvr libre meme si j'ai bien peur qu'il ne soit pas compatible avec ta carte

(essaie ce tuto en partant de ton xorg que tu as posté puis en testant ma modif.

Si vraiment ca n'avance toujours aps, installe les drivers porpriétaires ATI depuis ce tuto :

Mais la par contre, tu doit repartir sur ton xorg.conf que tu as posté.
