[RESOLU] après formatage, je ne vois plus le disque dur externe

Bonjour,
Après un formatage, je ne parviens plus à voir l'image de mon disque dur externe donc à l'utiliser.

J'ai utilisé "disques" pour formater.J'ai demandé le formatage long, et qu'il soit reconnu par tous les systeme d'exploitation.

Quand je lance "Disques" il est bien reconnu.

Que faire ?

Je précise que j'ai eu la même chose juste avant pour une clé USB ici :

,  après l'avoir repositionnée, elle est finalement reconnue. Ca ne marche pas pour le disque dur.

"gedit admin:///etc/fstab" est proscrit,  utilisez "pkexec env DISPLAY=$DISPLAY XAUTHORITY=$XAUTHORITY xdg-open /etc/fstab" Voir  https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/gedit

bonjour.
merci de votre retour.

Donc en fait, si je comprends bien il ne faut pas que formater, il faut aussi partitionner ( vous dites monter) après c'est ca ?

C'était bien plus simple avant, je n'ai pas souvenir d'avoir pris autant de temps pour gérer les disques ( hier, 5 h45 pour formater, auj c'est reparti pour  monter ) ..

Le montage a toujours été une opération qui se fait plus ou moins automatiquement lorsqu'on branche un disque externe. Il faut débrancher et rebrancher après avoir créé la partition.
Cette opération est rapide et consiste à allouer la partition au point de montage /media/$USER/xxxxxxxx. Cela permet alors d'accéder au contenu de la partition.

Lorsque tu choisis de faire un formatage long?/lent? il ne faut pas être surpris que cela prenne plus de temps qu'avant. La vitesse du moteur est restée la même. Comme l'opération écrit des zéro sur la totalité du disque, il faut 100 fois plus de temps pour un disque de 4 To que pour un disque de 40 Go.

mon disque est toujours en train de monter, depuis plus d'une heure. ce ne serait pas normal ?

Débranche ton disque  USB puis fais cette commande

Branche ton disque. Attends trente secondes et  publie ce retour

Là, il me dit que /dev/sda contient une table de partition de type gpt, que /dev/sda2 a été formaté en ext4 et que /dev/sdd ne contient pas de table de partition et a été formaté en vfat.

D'après ce que je vois, il semble que ton disque dur contienne seulement une gigantesque partition EFI. Dans ce cas, difficile d'en faire grand-chose.

Tu as peut-être oublié de suivre toute la consigne

Installe l'application smartmontools et donne ce retour

sudo smartctl -s on -a /dev/sda

Comme c'est un disque externe, il faudra peut-être des paramètres supplémentaires

sudo smartctl -s on   -d   sat  -T verypermissive -a /dev/sda
