RESOLU [VLC son mais pas d'image]
Bonjour,
Sur un vieux portable qui était sous ubuntu 22.04, je viens de faire la mise à jour vers Lubuntu 24.04 histoire d'être gentil avec le vieil ordi.
Mon problème actuel c'est que je n'arrive pas à avoir l'image sur VLC (ecran noir) mais j'ai bien le son. J'ai bien trouvé ce post ancien

mais la solution proposée (sortie video en X11) ne me permet pas de visionner des fichiers avi ou mp4. Alors que ces même fichiers étaient lu par VLC sur Ubuntu 22.04.
Est-ce que c'est l'ordi qui meurt doucement ou est-ce qu'il y a autre chose à explorer?

ooops j'ai perdu xubu1957 . je le blame pas puisqu'on est des bénévoles ici.
Suite a cet échange et le fait que j'ai X11 et pas wayland, je suis retourné dans les paramètres de VLC (préférences --> video -->sortie ) car ca je sais faire et j'ai repassé la liste en revue. J'ai essayé Xvideo (XBC) Car X de X11 (faiblesse de l'argument!) et là ca marche.
Donc je met en résolu, et le post ancien est toujours valide même s'il faut du flair pour trouver la version qui convient. Si un crak de VLC pouvait documenter cela ce serait super.
Merci à Xubu1957 puisque c'est son dernier echo qui m'a mis la puce à l'oreille.

j'ai un choix d'environnement mais pas de carte graphique
il me propose le choix entre Lubuntu bureau LXQt et open box mais pas de roue crantée comme dans la photo de ton post.
sinon pour le reste j'ai le son ET l'image quand je mets la sortie video de VLC sur X11.

merci pour ce suivi. On va en rester là merci pour ton aide. En tout cas je n'avais pas l'image et maintenant je l'ai. Peut-être pas de manière propre mais je l'ai et c'est cela qui compte.
