[Résolu] Écran ou carte graphique HS sur Toshiba Satellite l850-15z

Bonjour,
j'ai récupéré ce modèle de portable sur lequel j'ai installé une 20.04 LTS.
L'ensemble fonctionnait correctement mais l'écran ne s'allume plus depuis quelques jours
Alors ce matin  j'ai branché une console sur le port VGA.
L'écran du portable reste noir mais sur cete console, je peux démarrer un mode rescue. Je vois quelques hiéroglyphes passer mais je peux me conecter à ma session.
Du coup avant de changer l'écran, je voudrais être sur que ce n'est pas la carte graphique  qui se néglige.
Suis-au bon endroit pour demander de l'aide ?
Si c'est le cas, quelle est la première action que je pourrais effectuer ?

Bonjour,
Au niveau modèle, est ce un Toshiba Satellite l850-15z?
Dans un premier temps, commence par donner

lspci -k

pour voir si c'est une carte nvidia ou amd (ou qu'il y a que la partie graphique du processeur), et quel est le pilote utilisé.
Aussi peux tu éclairer l'écran avec une lampe afin de voir si tu as une image sans rétroéclairage? (pas simple à voir, mais important à regarder quand même)
Aussi tu parles de console, mais as tu une image ou juste une console en noir et blanc?

C'est pas normal, il devrait y avoir une ligne "Kernel driver in use".
Tu n'aurais pas installé un autre pilote? (catalyst même s'il faut pas l'installer?)

Bizarre, le module n'est pas blacklisté, tu peux redémarrer et donner

dmesg

le retour est (très) long, mais il y aura très probablement l'explication du pilote radeon qui n'est pas chargé.

Pour ce qui est de l'image sur mon second écran branché sur le port vga, j'ai pu démarrer la session en mode rescue. J'ai donc un affichage couleur en 640 * 480 (4:3)

Ah mais je suis bête, tu es passé par le mode recovery, donc tu as donc le paramètre noyau nomodeset, donc le pilote graphique radeon n'est pas utilisé. C'est normal.

? (c'est pour voir si ton écran de pc est utilisé/reconnu)
Si tu débranches l'écran, est ce que cela te passe sur l'écran du pc?
Et sans passer par le mode recovery, tu as une image sur l'écran externe?

Alors si je débranche mon écran, il ne passe rien au niveau de l'écran du portable.
Si je ne démarre pas en mode recovery, je visualise sur l'écran externe quelques hiéroglyphes, puis à un moment Ubuntu 20.04 puis je devine la dernière ligne de pixel en couleur mauve et puis rien d'autre!

Oh, pour moi il devrait y avoir deux écrans dans le dernier retour.
Est ce que tu peux essayer de démarrer avec l'option modprobe.blacklist=radeon? Pour cela, dans le menu grub, au lieu de choisir le mode recovery, tu appuies sur e en étant positionné sur l'entrée choisie par défaut. Là tu pourras ajouter modprobe.blacklist=radeon entre quiet et splash (le clavier est en qwerty, il faut un peu chercher), puis faire F10 pour démarrer. Tu pourras vérifier que le paramètre est bien passé avec

cat /proc/cmdline

et voir si ça marche correctement sur l'écran externe, le débrancher et voir si ça marche sur l'écran du pc portable.

Alors, il y a du mieux. L'écran externe démarre directement et beaucoup plus rapidement en  plus en 1152 x 864.
En revanche sur l’écran du portable c'est toujours écran noir après avoir redémarré sans écran externe.
J'ajoute que Verr Maj et Verr num, qui sont à priori mes seuls indicateurs de fonctionnement du système, ne répondent pas.
Ce qui me laisse penser que le système essaye de charger quelque chose comme l'affichage et que ça boucle sans solution interne (bon, ça ne veut pas dire grand chose mais je l'imagine comme ça!)

Le paramètre modprobe.blacklist=radeon que tu as passé n'est valable que pour la session, en d'autres termes il disparaît au redémarrage. Tu as essayé de démarrer avec modprobe.blacklist=radeon et débrancher l'écran externe pour voir s'il se passe qqch sur l'écran du pc portable?
Aussi as tu utilisé une lampe pour voir s'il y a un affichage sans rétroéclairage sur l'écran du pc portable? (en fait pour avoir une image, il faut l'image et qu'elle soit éclairée, sinon on voit rien)

J'ai redémarré avec modprobe.blacklist=radeon ce qui m'a repermit de démarrer directement sur l'écran externe en 1152 x 864.
Puis j'ai débranché l'écran externe, mais rien ne s'est passé sur l'écran du portable.
En éclairant avec lampe de mon téléphone dirigée prés de mon écran de portable, rien n’apparaît.

Ok. J'aurais tendance à penser que l'écran du pc portable est mort, mais ce qui me surprend, c'est que le pilote radeon ne donne pas d'affichage correct sur l'écran externe. Peut être que l'écran interne fait buguer le pilote. Il y a probablement moyen de passer un paramètre noyau pour empêcher l'utilisation de l'écran interne, je sais pas faire, mais ça doit pouvoir se trouver. Je peux regarder ça après en soirée.

@k22bis: en faisant quelques recherches, apparemment il faudrait compter environ 65€ pour un écran, après faut trouver exactement le bon modèle. Je serais pas aussi catégorique sur le fait que l'écran est HS.

Effectivement, on ne sais jamais. Cependant, si le problème était lié à une histoire de drivers ou et d'installation, l'écran serait censé s’allumer dans le bios lorsque le disque dur est déconnecté non et qu'aucun système n'est trouvé?
(j'ai débranché le disque dur pour m'affranchir des problèmes d'OS).
 @@Nuliel tu pencherais plutôt pour un problème de carte graphique? ou de Bios ?

J'ai vu que je pouvais flasher le bios, je cherche comment faire, pas évident. J'ai trouvé un lien, mais je ne sais ni quoi en penser ni quoi en faire !

Pour tester si cela vient d'un driver, on teste généralement en live usb, avec le paramètre modprobe.blacklist=nouveau lorsqu'on a une carte nvidia récente.
Le BIOS doit toujours s'afficher, même si le disque dur est déconnecté.
Ce n'est pas un pb de BIOS, sinon cela ne démarrerait pas. Ne prends pas de risques inutiles, pas besoin de le reflasher. Et c'est pas forcément simple de reflasher, il faut soit un windows, soit un live usb avec un pseudo windows (j'ai oublié le nom)
De toute façon, c'est soit rétroéclairage mort/puce graphique dédiée défectueuse/écran mort.
Si en mettant une source de lumière sur l'écran, tu ne vois pas plus (c'est très léger l'image sans rétroéclairage), alors c'est pas un pb de rétroéclairage.
Je te laisse tester en live usb pour vérifier que c'est pas un problème lié à ton install.

Bonsoir, alors j'ai essayé à partir de mon live usb. Pas mieux.
Alors j'ai démonté l'écran puis rebranché avec juste l'écran externe qui se comporte exactement comme avant.
Du coup, je vais prendre le risque entre puce graphique dédiée défectueuse et écran mort, je le saurais en remontant le nouvel écran.
Je vous tiens au courant du verdict d'ici une semaine le temps de recevoir le nouveau.
