Erreur fatale grub-install lors de l'installation (à côté de Windows)
Bonjour,
je suis novice sous linux et j'ai essayé plusieurs fois d'installer ubuntu avec une partition manuelle.
Il a d'abord planté et demandé une partition EFI que j'ai créée puis j'ai testé plusieurs endroits pour le démarrage /sda puis /sda7 et là j'ai eu les deux fois une erreur "l'éxecution de grub-install a échoué. Cette erreur est fatale".
En regardant différentes discussions il me semble que la réponse à apporter dépend de pas mal de choses. Voici ce que m'a donné boot-info:

1) Comment est installé Windows (mode bios ou UEFI ?) et quel est le Windows (vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10...)
2) Il faudra installer ubuntu dans le même mode que windows
3) Le mode d'installation sera le même que celui qui te permet de démarrer sur ta cléUSB (ou DVD) :
- démarrage sur clé en mode UEFI --> installation en mode uefi (nécessité d'une partition EFI)
- démarrage sur clé en mode Bios (legacy) --> installation en mode bios
PC fixe sous Bionic 64 bits et portable avec Focal 64 bits

La suggestion de boot-repair est pertinente car en l'état le grub en MBR (donc en legacy) mais qui va chercher dans la partition EFI qu'il te fut demandé de créer (donc pas bon) ! Pour cette derniere partoche, avais-tu réglé ton bios sur le EFI au lieu du legacy en croyant que cela irait mieux ?
Si oui, fallait pas car ton w7 est en mode legacy (non-efi) ; si non l'installateur de la 2010 déconne.
Et à propos de la 2010, si ton PC remonte à W7, installe plutot la 200401 lts (5 ans de support et plus "aboutie").
Reste ton partitionnement : pourquoi une partition /var ?

Salut,
Tu ouvres le bal des plantages à l'installation sur disque dos avec la version 20.10 et suivantes. Tu n'as commis aucune erreur. C'est la stratégie d'installation d'Ubuntu qui est foireuse. J'ai évoqué ce souci ici : http://ikewdu.free.fr/installations-aut … ntu-21-04/
Vois le lien vers le sujet de malbo en début de page qui lui aussi évoque cette situation avec la 20.10.
On peut entrer dans le détail, mais je te conseille déjà de retenter l'installation avec la 20.04 après avoir supprimé sous gparted la partition efi (sda7) et remis le drapeau boot sur sda3.

Problème contourné... Fais éventuellement un nouveau rapport boot-info pour qu'on voie la différence.

@ikewdu : je déterre ce fil par rapport au tuto "Installations automatiques hybrides sous Ubuntu 21.04" dont tu as donné le lien dans le post #5 plus haut. J'ai refait des manips sur le sujet et j'en donne la synthèse au début de ce post : https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.p … #p22432666
En bref, les manips que j'ai pu faire à l'époque et celles que tu as réalisées pour ton tuto ont été faites avec une version de développement de Ubuntu 21.04. Il se trouve que la version officielle de Ubuntu 21.04 n'a pas les problèmes que nous avions rencontrés avec les versions de développement. En outre, j'ai pu vérifier que la version en développement de Ubuntu 21.10 n'a pas de problèmes (voir ICI) mais il faudra attendre la sortie officielle de Ubuntu 21.10 pour en être sûr...
