Dual Screen Configuration

Bonjour,
j'aurais besoin d'un ptit coup de pouce,
je possede une carte ATI radeon 9200Se, je voudrais alors que mon bureau s'étale sur les deux écrans ( à la Window$ ..), que ma souris puisse passer d'un à l'autre...
J'ai lu une dizaine de tutos, mais aucuns n'étaient très clair à ce sujet. Je débute sous Linux.
Voila donc si quelqu'un pouvait m'éguiller ou même (encore mieux) m'expliquer, j'en serais ravis.

Désolé, je ne m'étais pas identifier... tongue

Je voulais preciser aussi, que mes deux écrans sont bien reconnus, et que actuellement j'obtiens deux bureux "clonés".. (ce sont les meme a droite et a gauche..) si vous voyez ce que je veux dire.

seule moyen pour faire l'extension du bureau a la windows c'est Xinerama, mais attention xinerama ne fonctionne que avec les driver ATI (ceu utilisé par defaut sur UBUNTU) si tu veux utiliser l'option Xinerama ave les pilotes FGLRX c'est pas la peinne ou alors tu passe sur une NVIDIA !!!

Vive ATI nan enfaite c'est leurs pilotes qui son pas encore très au point !!

ATI fait du bon matos mais ils sont incapables de l'exploiter raisonnablemment...

Connaissant de nombreuses personnes qui ont des ATI récentes je peu dire que beaucoup de jeux passent mieux sur ma Gforce 5200 128 mo alors...

Ma prochaine carte (étant donné que c'est la fin de l'agp) sera une 6600 256 mo AGP nvidia évidemment...

Pourquoi nvidia ?
J'ai jamais eu de problèmes et pour ce qui est de linux il n'y a pas photo ;-)...

merci je vais voir ce que je trouve a propos de xinerama.

Ha oui je tiens aussi a préciser que j ene peux pas installer les drivers fglrx, ils on l'air inconnu au bataillon ( ni ds synaptic, ni en passant pas apt-get install ) ... c'est bizzar .... >___<

Sert toi de la configuration de mon XORG : ca fontionnait chez moi , mais comme dit sans accélération 3D

j'ai exprès cherché pour toi car je me rappel comme j'ai galèré moi aussi au début !!

Mais comme dit ma solution ultime pour moi a été de changé ma carte ATI par une NVIDIA

Ouff j'ai juste fait un echange...... lol

Bon courage.....


Mais tu peut etre sur qu'une fois que tu y a gouté tu est sous le CHARME !! lol

heu Seppi, je viens de regarder ton post (merci d'ailleur) mais ds mon xorg.conf je n'ai qu'un seule partie "Section Device" et une seule "Section Monitor', je suis pas sur que ca soit normal >___<
que faire ?

Si Si c'est normal, toi tu a la configuration de base donc le mode CLONE !

Il faut que tu rajoute une nouvelle section DEVICE et une Nouvelle section screen :

Comme moi a peut près tu doit créer une section device clone nommé par exemple :

"ATI Technologies, Inc. Radeon 9700 Pro (R300 ND) 1"

et

"ATI Technologies, Inc. Radeon 9700 Pro (R300 ND) 2"

puis modifier / créer la section Screen : avec les parametre de ton premier ECRAN et ton second ECRAN

En gros tu adapte mon XORG pour ton matos :


A retenir : si ton serveur X ne demarrre plus quand ligne de commande utilise :

sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Si tu veut redemarrer ton serveur X pour verifier que tout fonctionne bien :

CTRL+ALT + retour arrière

et si vraiment gros gros plantage :

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

bon j'ai essayer d'adapter a ma config, j'ai tout mis en double en adaptant..
y'a un ptit changement, j'ai toujours mes deux bureux clonés! mais pas la souris !! lol
j'ai la souris seulement sur le bureux de gauche ... étrange !

J'ai réussi à faire du dual Head avec une carte ATI (deux bureaux avec leurs barres respectives, pas moyen de faire passer une fenêtre de l'un à l'autre mais avec des résolutions différentes)

Pour ça, il faut activer les dépots Universe dans Synaptic, installer les drivers propriétaires ATI (fglrx)
et ensuite modifier le xorg.conf comme suit :

Salut, moi j'ai une ATI Radeon 9200SE et j'ai un bureau étendu sur les deux écrans.

Voila pour Tye c'est bon sont xorg, bureau etandu et tout et tout fonctionne !!! c'est reglé !

Parcontre pour le bureau etandu LR c'est normal que ca fonctionne, avec les driver que tu utilise, essai donc de faire ca avec les fglrx , IMPOSIBLE.

Moi pour mon ati à l'epoque j'utilisais les driver ati et non fglrx donc pas de 3D !

Vivement qu' ATI fasse des drivers un peut plus au point comme NVIDIA par exemple avec twinview !
