Changement nvidia 7900GT vers 8800 GTS

bon voilà, je sais que plusieurs ont le problème.. j'ai cherché, tenté diverses solutions.. et toujours rien.

en gros j'ai changé de carte récement et mon écran devient maintenant tout noir au démarage, ensuite apparait le merveilleux message me disant que mon X.org n'est pas bien configuré. je dois donc passer en console pour faire les changements.. seulement je n'arrive a rien... reboot , écran noir a nouveau puis le mesage. je me dis que c'est peut-êtr ele busId le problème mais je ne sais pas trop vers quoi le modifier. (a noter que j'utilise Feisty 64bit)

des solutions?

As tu essayé d'installer le driver nvidia-glx-new, je crois qu'il est nécessaire pour ta carte  ..

et toujours rien...

en fait voilà ce que j'ai tenté de faire ca succes:

sudo apt-get nvidia-glx-new
sudo nvidia-xconfig

j'ai meme tenté de configurer moi-même mais je ne sais pas trop ce qu'est le BusID.. donc vala quoi lol.
et sous nv la partition ubuntu refuse tout simplement de démarrer.

Si tu as mis ta 8800 sur le même PCI Express que celui sur lequel était ta 7900, je ne vois pas pourquoi le BusId aurait changé : à mon avis, ce n'est pas la bonne piste.
Si tu démarres sur un live CD Ubuntu, l'option d'installation des pilotes proprio semble t-elle bien reconnaitre ta carte ?
(J'espère ne pas être trop à l'ouest car je suis plus habitué aux galères ATI.)

Si tu veux quand même vérifier le BusId, regarde ce que sort la commande lspci. Elle te listera les ports avec ce qu'elle trouve derrière.

Juste un autre truc, tu peux nous donner les erreurs du démarrage de Xorg en tapant :

grep "(EE)" /var/log/Xorg.0.log

C'est la meilleure façon de déterminer les soucis..
