[Réglé] Installation Impossible drivers Geforce 7600 GS

Bonjour la communauté!

Bon, je suis au bord de la crise de nerfs. Je veux installer ma nouvelle carte graphique Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS sur une Feisty fraichement réinstallée.
J'ai suivi tous les tutos possibles et imaginables, parcouru le forum en long en large et en travers mais rien y fait. Toujours un plantage au niveau de xorg...

Comme je l'ai écrit à l'instant, j'ai tout essayé, la méthode retricted-manager, la méthode envy, la méthode manuelle... J'ai édité je ne sais combien de fois mon fichier xorg.conf (j'avais une sauvegarde)...
Le seul driver qui passe est vesa, mais du coup, pas d'accélération 3d...

Pourtant j'ai pu voir que des utilisateurs d'Ubuntu avaient cette carte installée alors, qu'est ce qui cloche.

Si une âme charitable et expérimentée voulait bien refiare les manips pas à pas avec moi ce serait plus qu'aimable, ce serait de l'assistance à personne en danger

Bonjour,
Je possède une 7600GS, et d'après mes souvenirs il suffit de dérouler le menu "système" -> "Administration" et de sélectionner "gestionnaire des pilotes propriétaires" puis de cocher nividia etc. et normalement c bon.

Sinon cette méthode ne fonctionne pas ? http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/nvidia#quel_dr … _installer

La méthode envy n'est à mon avis pas du tout la plus simple...
Donne-nous ta configuration matérielle, quoique le problème n'est surement pas matériel.

Oui, je l'ai fait ca! C'est même la première chose que j'ai faite après installation de Feisty. Mais plantage de xorg au redémarrage.

Ma config, je ne sais pas trop quoi mettre?... J'ai un pentium 4 2.00GHz, 768 Mo en mémoire vive, un écran LiteOn version coffre fort de 17 pouces...

Ah si! je précise (ca a peut être une incidence quelconque, c'est une version port AGP 8x)...

As-tu déjà exécuté, dans ton terminal après avoir fermé ta session (ctl + alt + F1) cette commande :

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

?
En répondant aux différentes questions, cela recréera ton fichier de configuration de xorg.
Peut-être est-ce juste ce qui manque après avoir installé les drivers ?

Je récapitule :
- fermer ta session
- ctl + alt + F1
- [edit]se logger
- sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Bon alors ca y est, j'ai reconfiguré avec la commande que sissou m'a donné. Pffiou! Je ne m'attendais pas à un tel interrogatoire. D'autant que j'ai du répondre un peu au pifomètre à certaines questions. Mais bref, après reconfiguration donc, mon problème restait inchangé.
Puis, un message a attiré mon attention dans mon log, il y était proposé d'ajouter dans le xorg.conf ceci (dans Screen Section) :

Option "NoPowerConnectorCheck"

Et ca y est, tout fonctionne bien
