Drivers proprios ou drivers libres pour utiliser Beryl ?

Salut à tous !

Je crée un poste suite à la lecture de celui la : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=102280
Ce la évite ainsi de polluer ce poste en y posant ma question.

Je dispose d'un portable Sony K215S et d'une carte graphique Radeon mobility 9200. Les drivers libres fonctionnent bien mais je ressend de sérieuse baisses de performances qd j'utilise Beryl (défilement tres long dans firefox, lors d'une lecture d'un fichier video avec VLC et lors du déplacement des fenetres sous le bureau).

Aurais je plus de performances avec les drivers propriétaires ou faut il mieux conserver les drivers libres? J'ai tenté d'installer les drivers proprios mais je n'arrive pas à activer l'accéleration 3D.

Voici les scores que j'obtiens avec les drivers libres :

8277 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1655.317 FPS
8265 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1652.948 FPS
8264 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1652.705 FPS
8263 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1652.499 FPS
8196 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1639.192 FPS

Est ce normal que Bery sacade légérement avec ces drivers ?

Voici mon fichier xorg.conf, faut il changer quelque chose pour optimiser les performances ?  :

Ma carte graph me semble trop faiblarde pour faire tourner beryl, quelque soit les drivers. Quelqu'un peut il me confirmer ça ?

Je ne peu pas te confirmer à 100% que ta carte graph soit à l'origine de ton probleme avec beryl, mais il est clair qu'une 9200 ATI me semble un peu faiblarde pour toutees les annim proposees par Beryl.

Mais de toutes les façons, Beryl est un casse noisette en lui. Je tourne sous 7900GT driver proprio, et malgré tout je constate de gros ralantissement des l'utilisation de beryl, qui n'est tout de meme qu'un gadjet, ne facilitant ou simplifiant en rien l'utilisation de ta machine

Sinon une grosse RAM pourra peut etre t'aider à contourner les lacune de ta Carte Graph
