Bonjour,

Voici le message alors que je tente une mise à jour:

Un problème insoluble est survenu pendant l'initialisation des informations du paquet.

Veuillez signaler ce bogue du paquet « update-manager » en y joignant le message d'erreur suivant :

'E:Le type « ‘deb » est inconnu sur la ligne 57 dans la liste des sources /etc/apt/sources.list, E:La liste des sources ne peut être lue.'

Tu es sûr qu'il est complet, ton sources.list ? Il a 56 lignes et le message te parle d'une erreur à la ligne 57...

Les dépôts désactivés (par exemple celui de Cairo Dock), c'est de ton fait ou c'est la mise à jour Hardy -> Intrepid qui les a désactivés et tu n'as jamais fait attention ?

Fais un copier-coller de tout ça (sans le "code:" de la balise, bien sûr) dans ton fichier sources.list (en l'éditant en admin, avec sudo), à la place du contenu précédent, puis essaie de recharger la liste via ton gestionnaire de paquets (ou sudo apt-get update).

Si ça ne marche pas mieux, donne le contenu du dossier /etc/apt/sources.list.d (ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d).

Oui c'est la mise à jour qui l'a désactivé...

Justement c'est ce que je ne comprends pas...

J'ai fait la manip indiquée mais bon c'est tjrs le même problème, cette foutue erreur avec une ligne qui n'existe pas...

Oui c'est la mise à jour qui l'a désactivé...

Maintenant que la liste est corrigée, tu peux réactiver les dépôts que tu souhaites.

Donne le contenu tu dossier /etc/apt/sources.list.d

Bon, alors tu vas rééditer le fichier sources.list en rajoutant les dépôts qui sont dans des fichiers à part :

(Je t'ai réactivé Cairo Dock et j'ai mis à jour les dépôts Hardy en Intrepid.)

Ensuite, tu effaces les fichiers qui sont dans sources.list.d (sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*).
Mais avant, vérifie quand même leur contenu : tu dis qu'il y a des fichiers .save correspondant aux quatre fichiers dont tu as donné le contenu. Donc 8 en tout. Or, avant, tu dis qu'il y a 9 fichiers dans sources.list.d...

Si tout est bon au niveau des sources, recharge la liste. Si tu as toujours un message d'erreur, dis à quelle nouvelle ligne (vu que le fichier a changé, ce ne sera logiquement pas à la 57).

OK super, merci de ta précieuse aide a mon problème.

Tout est rentré dans l'ordre, la mise à jour fonctionne et plus de message d'erreur.

Dernière chose à ce sujet, le gestionnaire de mise à jour me propose l'update vers la version 9.04 sachant que je suis en multiboot avec Vista (Et oui personne n'est parfait mais bon pour le boulot il me faut encore Windows...) et c'est GRUB qui gère le démarrage, de ce fait que ce passe t'il si j'update ma distri?

Aurais-je tjrs le Multiboot de proposé?
Est-il judicieux de passer vers la 9.04? ...sachant que ma distri marche nickel (...à part quand je fait des conneries...)

GRUB sera modifié de façon transparente : ça fonctionnera comme avant, sauf que tu auras la 9.04 au lieu de la 8.10.

Il me semble judicieux de faire la mise à jour, ne serait-ce que parce que tu ne peux passer que d'une version n à n+1 d'Ubuntu. Si tu veux faire la mise à jour plus tard (pour la 9.10, 10.04, etc.), il faudra de toute façon passer par toutes les versions intermédiaires, ce qui multiplie les possibilités de problèmes.
Ubuntu est conçu de façon à ce que les utilisateurs mettent le système à jour à chaque version (tous les 6 mois). Si tu veux garder le même système sur une durée plus longue, il vaut alors mieux t'en tenir aux LTS (on peut faire la mise à jour d'une LTS à la suivante : 6.06 -> 8.04, 8.04 à 10.04, etc.).

D'un autre côté, si après la mise à jour tu as des problèmes, tu ne pourras pas revenir à la 8.10. Il faudra réinstaller le système...

À savoir aussi qu'actuellement, avec la 9.04, il y a des problèmes concernant les pilotes graphiques Intel et ATI. Pour les Intel, je crois qu'on peut contourner les problèmes en question (en attendant que des pilotes fonctionnels soient disponibles officiellement, il y a des dépôts tiers qui les fournissent). Pour les ATI, il vaut mieux regarder dans la doc quels pilotes sont disponibles pour les divers modèles de cartes.

OK, je crois avoir une carte graphique Intel sur ce portable (A200 Toshiba)
Je vais me renseigner sur les divers soucis lié aux cartes graphique et peut etre me lancer vers l'Upgrade.

À tout hasard, vérifie aussi dans la doc s'il n'y aurait pas une page sur ce portable, avec la compatibilité du matériel sur diverses versions d'Ubuntu.

Et bien non sur la doc pas de sujet concernant les incompatibilités avec Linux, cela aurais été trop beau...
