RESOLU boot cassé ?

Bonjour,

j'ai un ancien portable sur lequel un kubuntu avait été installé sur un ssd externe (avec un dual win/kubuntu sur le dd interne, mais plus utilisés).

J'ai enlevé le ssd externe, bêtement sans vérifier que cet ordi n'était pas éteint, afin de transferer les données sur un nouvel ordi en Kubuntu.

Maintenant, quand je redemarre l'ancien, il n'arrive plus a booter sur le ssd externe, et me donne le message
BusyBox v1.30 (Ubuntu 1:1.30.1-7ubuntu3) built-in shell (ash)
Enter help for a list if built-in commands.

sans doute une ces commandes me permettrons de restorer ce ssd, mais lesquelles?

Bonsoir.
Tout simplement, lorsque tu as installé, cela a modifié pour booter sur le disque externe.
Tu supprimes ce disque, c'est logique que cela ne boote plus.

Merci de publier le résultat d'un boot-info afin de voir comment réparer,

Bonsoir geole,

pour être bien sûr qu'on se comprend bien

quand j'allume l'ordi avec le ssd branché, il affiche le menu de boot, mais quand je choisis la premiere option
qui est de booter sur le ssd externe il flanche. Je suppose que le boot sur le ssd est cassé.

Ta remarque me suggère que tu penses que j'essaye de booter sans le ssd externe.. mais je trompe sans
doute...

je vais essayer de faire le boot info que tu demandes demain samedi.

Cependant,
il y a aussi l'option de tenter de booter sur le dd interne, qui lui doit en principe fonctionner comme avant.
Peut-on faire la manip que tu demandes à partir de ce dd .. demander au kubuntu qui est dessus de donner
des infos sur le boot etc ...??

Bonsoir.
Tu as bien compris. Je pensais que tu avais modifié le contenu du disque externe  ou qu'il était absent.
Si ton boot propose de booter sur le disque interne, c'est parfait. tu pourras faire le boot-info. Sinon il sufit d'utiliser un support d'installation.

Nota. Un grub n'a pas à proposer de booter sur un disque externe.
Si on veut booter sur un disque externe, il suffit de dire au bios que le boot sur support externe est prioritaire.

j'ai le boot-info, obtenu à partir du DD de l'ordi au boot cassé, mais qui a encore un kubuntu sur le dd fonctionnel.

Juste pour rappel
cet ordi a un DD sur lequel win et kubuntu 11.04 cohabitent, et un ssd externe sur lequel est installé kubuntu 22.04.
Grace à l'aide de geole sur ce forum j'ai pu booter sur ce ssd. Mais récemment je l'ai retiré alors que l'ordi etait encore en marche
et maintenant je ne peux plus booter dessus.

Tu peux expliquer "il te suffit de supprimer  hd1,gpt2 du fichier  de paramétrage ou de mettre hd0,gpt2" s'il te plait?

Sinon, j'aimerai bien comprendre (dans les grandes lignes) ce qui a pu se passer quand j'ai enlevé le ssd alors que l'ordi était
encore booté dessus? ça abime le boot? le MBR ?
Ce que je ne comprend pas, c'est pourquoi quand je rebranche le ssd, l'ordi n'est plus capable de le lire et de booter dessus.

si c'est trop technique, je me contenterai de la réponse à la première ligne et de just récupérer le ssd comme avant.

Depuis le ubuntu interne qui fonctionne, tu branches le disque externe.
Tu regardes quel est le nom de la partition en frappant cette commande

lsblk -fe7

Tu montes la partition  qui sera probablement encore  SDC1 avec cette commande. Si pas SDC1, tu rectifies

sudo mount -v /dev/sdc1 /mnt

Tu accèdes au fichier avec cette commande

sudo nano /mnt/efi/ubuntu/grub.cfg

puis avec  les touches de positionnement tu effaces les caractères  hd1,gpt2
puis tu sauvegardes en frappant les caractères Ctrl o
Tu valides l'écriture en frappant Ctrl x
Tu démontes la partition en frappant

sudo umount -v /mnt

J'ai vu cette erreur. Il y en a peut-être d'autres.   Tu peux donc vérifier que la partition 2 est restée en bon état.    Ce n'est pas souvent le cas lors d'un mauvais démontage.

sudo fsck -f /dev/sdc2

j'ai suivi tes conseils (voir détails ci-dessous). Maintenant au lieu de demarrer sur le ssd en première place, il démarre sur
le dd
Il y a comma avant la possibilité de demarrer sur /dev/sdc2 (donc le dd si j'ai bien compris). Mais là il dit qu'il faut charger
le noyau. Si je fais return, il me remet le menu de boot.

Peux-tu refaire un boot-info s'il te plait.
Cependant, je tiens à te redire que le disque dur n'a pas à connaitre le disque externe.
Lorsqu'on veut booter depuis un disque externe, on vérifie que le bios est bien positionné pour booter prioritairement sur un support externe.  Le boot-info ne sait pas le vérifier.

après avoir débranche et rebranché le ssd, j'ai pu le voir dans Dolphin.
J'ai fait un reboot, choisi l'option 1, qui boote encore sur le dd (et non pas sur le ssd comme avant)

j'ai refait un boot-info, et cette fois-ci on voit le ssd en /dev/sdc2

Please do not forget to make your UEFI firmware boot on the L'OS actuellement utilisé - Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS entry (sdb2/efi/****/shim****.efi (**** will be updated in the final message) file) !
If your computer reboots directly into Windows, try to change the boot order in your UEFI firmware.
If your UEFI firmware does not allow to change the boot order, change the default boot entry of the Windows bootloader.
For example you can boot into Windows, then type the following command in an admin command prompt:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\****\shim****.efi (**** will be updated in the final message)

On voit que la structure de boot EFI    est correcte mais que la structure de  boote Legacy est absente.
Je vais être plus précis, As-tu bien vérifié que ton bios est bien positionné pour  booter en premier sur le disque externe en mode EFI et pas legacy. Certains ordinateurs ne savent pas booter EFI externe. Seulement LEGACY

J ai noté que la structure O.S. de ce disque externe est correcte.

En principe, la proposition de montée en version de la 24.04, sera proposée vers fin juillet, avec la version 24.04.1 LTS (prenant en compte les corrections apportées sur un trimestre).

L'upgrade est une mise à jour volumineuse. Elle se fait pour l'O.S. qui la demande. A toi de bien vérifier sur lequel tu as booté.
Mais cela sera plutôt fin juillet début aout.
