[Résolu] Passage 16 -> 17 : HD sur USB qui disparait
Voici les symptômes :
Un PC avec :
- un SSD sous 16.10 16.04
- un SSD sous 17.04
- un HD 2T en USB3 ASMEDIA Technologie type ASM1015E sur un port USB3
Au démarrage d'Ubuntu je choisis l'une ou l'autre version. Pas de branchement, pas de modification bios ou autre, juste le choix de boot sur l'une ou l'autre version Ubuntu.
Sous 16.04, le HD apparaît et est utilisable normalement (encfs pour des sauvegardes) depuis ... toujours et encore maintenant.
Sous 17.04 il n’apparaît nul part ni avec lsusb, ni avec fdisk, pas plus que par le gui / disk
Conclusion (bien sûr puisque je cherche de l'aide ...) je sèche.
Rien vu de décisif sur le forum ou ailleurs.

Merci de vos conseils.
Bon ça ne s'arrange pas vraiment c't'istoire ...
Maintenant c'est le clavier et la souris (en USB) qui ne répondent plus dès lors que je sélectionne U17 dans le menu de démarrage du boot Ubuntu. Avant clavier et souris ok (bios et menu de démarrage) après plus rien. Seul la prise PS2 avec un vieux clavier fonctionne. Mais pas de souris même avec un adaptateur ps2-usb.
Donc j'ai fait un rapport bisnext

Bon.
Alors pour ce qui est de l'image, 305 Ko désolé d'avoir dépassé le quota de taille. Effectivement, dont acte.
Pourquoi une image ? Parce que je ne sais pas surligner le code émit par le terminal ... sans souris. C'est idiot, je suis d'accord, mais au clavier, le passage de la ligne de commande au haut du terminal ... je coince. Et faire une recherche sur le net (sans souris) c'est pas non plus aussi évident que ça pour trouver ce point précis d'utilisation du terminal.
Je ne sais d'ailleurs même pas si c'est possible .. Peut-être en éditant le fichier histo du terminal, et je n'y ai pas pensé.
Alors que l'impression écran sans souris ça marche bien.
Enfin, pour ce qui est de ne pas l'avoir lu, je comprends pas trop la remarque, peux tu préciser ?

0) Corrige tout de suite, dans ton 1er message "16.10" en "16.04" !

1) Ok, j'avais zappé que la souris aussi était désactivée, et le clavier usb, te forçant à utiliser un clavier PS2.
À l'avenir, pense à rediriger les sorties de commande dans un fichier .txt. Ex :
lsusb; echo '' >> toto.txt
dmesg (...); echo '' >> toto.txt
ça permet aux autres de copier-coller des extraits pertinents.
(On peut même rajouter les balises à la main :
[ code] contenu de toto.txt [ /code] sans l'espace après "[".)
Puisque tu as commencé à bosser sans environnement graphique...

À la fin du retour de dmesg, on lit que le système de fichiers (FS) est en vrac ; avec une invitation à lancer e2fsck. Ce que je voulais dire c'est que tu n'avais pas lancé de fsck.
/!\ Mais à présent, je te déconseille le fsck depuis ta 17.04, sauf en simulation ! (voir plus loin).

Dans ton dmesg, on lit aussi pour ton HD externe :

Donc je n'exclus pas totalement un souci de cet ordre messages 4 et 10 de tiramiseb, "[Résolu] Taille des secteurs 512 / 4096 octets"
et ./viewtopic.php?pid=18848181#p18848181, "[Résolu] Partition bios-grub non vue et démarrage impossible", en particulier les messages 60 à 63 (42 à 44 depuis que la discussion a été vandalisée).

3.d Nouvelle version de ext4, avec "metadata-csum"
Je t'invite à faire depuis tes deux Linux
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade
Ensuite, et depuis ta 16.04 uniquement ! un
sudo parted -l
pour repérer la lettre et le chiffre momentanément attribués à la partition sdXN de ton DDE à problèmes, puis
sudo umount /dev/sdXN
sudo fsck -yfv /dev/sdXN
(en remplaçant à chaque fois X et N par les valeurs trouvées juste avant).
Après quoi, ça ira mieux. Peut-être.

C'est-à-dire que tu as au moins deux disques formatés en ext4 sans être partitionnés. Je dis "au moins deux" parce que nous ne sommes toujours pas fixés sur ton DDE à problème.
Cette possibilité n'est pas interdite.
Il s'est même trouvé un(e) [autocensure] pour la mentionner récemment dans la Doc, sans le moindre avertissement !
De mon point de vue, c'est une grave erreur. De sa part et de la tienne.
Faire des expériences, c'est intéressant.
Mais les faire sur ses disques de sauvegarde, c'est de l'inconscience.
Et les faire faire par d'autres, c'est inadmissible sur un site d'entraide.

Point 0 : Ok, c'est corrigé
Point 1 : Effectivement je n'ai pas eu ce réflexe pourtant simple.
Point 2 : Ok, c’était vu, mais quand j'aide quelqu'un avec un processus en tête, généralement ses initiatives me gène plus qu'autre chose. J'ai donc essayé d'être sage et de suivre le fil que tisses en attendant d'appliquer quoique ce soit. C'était apparemment pas plus idiot.
Point 3 : a : C'est aussi celle qui me paraît plausible
b : Éclaircissements :
le bisnext sous 17.04 est édité avec le HD 2 To USB branché et donc invisible. le /dev/sdg/ que tu isoles est le SSD de 279 Go hébergeant U17.04
Le dmesg que tu cites est la deuxième phase de ta demande dmesg. En rebranchant le disque pour cette deuxième phase, j'ai donc bien la surprise de le voir réapparaître d'ou sa présence. Tu noteras que le clavier et la souris sont eux toujours absent.
Donc non ce ne sont pas les même HD
c : Ok lu et probablement compris (je plaide non coupable pour le vandalisme).
Question après lecture, y aurait-il une modification en U17.04 qui expliquerait que le disque soit non seulement inutilisable mais devienne même invisible ?

Du coup je ne comprends pas tes deux lignes grasses et noires particulièrement obscures pour moi que ce soit pour la personne mise en cause, pour la doc et pour l'erreur à laquelle j'aurais apporté ma pierre.
D'expérience il n'est pas question (sauf le test de la 17.04 avant abandon de la 16.04).
Et du coup ta conclusion qui te fâche tout rouge me passe totalement au-dessus de la zone de compréhension. Je ne sais pas si c'est mérité ou non, c'est juste abscons. Et sans effet éducatif du coup.

Bien.
Je corrige puisque ça semble digne de ta colère.
Et si ceci permet de résoudre les problèmes USB d'un autre disque, du clavier et de la souris, alors cette colère trouvera ça pleine justification.
J’avoue toutefois ne pas faire le lien un instant, puisque les symptômes sont apparus avec le passage en U17.04, sans modif sur la structure de ces disques.
La raison (pas l'excuse, hein) de ces non partition n'est pas de l'expérience. C'est le passage d'un volume chiffré sous Truecrypt vers encfs après les pb du projet TC. Ça remonte donc à un bail sans avoir (apparemment) posé de problèmes (et malgré le passage de WinXp à Ubuntu). Négligence si ça te fais vraiment plaisir de me fustiger, même si comme tu le remarques, ce n'est pas interdit.
Un détail quand même, quand on vient demander de l'aide c'est généralement par manque de clairvoyance sur ce qui nous obsède. Si la solution apportée par celui qui aide, lui semble évidente et triviale, ça ne mérite par forcément de monter dans les tours si celui qui écoute reste à sa place. Donc merci du temps consacré. Et je donne le résultat de la partition des disques sur le problème dès que c'est fait.

Par ailleurs, toujours dans le bisnext effectué depuis 16.04,
on voit que quatre de tes disques visibles ont des problèmes :
- les deux Maxtor DiamondMax 6L300S0 de 300 Go, qui chauffent trop (55 et 57°C)
- le Samsung SpinPoint F3 HD103SJ de 1 To, qui chauffe encore plus (63°), 32.591 heures
- et l'Intel de 120 Go SSDSA2M120G2GC, 25.095 heures.

Mais je ne conteste pas que ton diagnostique sera peut-être le bon.
Je dis que justement je ne suis pas intuitivement capable de voir le lien et que ça expliquerait alors mon échec à résoudre le pb sans (ton) aide.
Et si ce n'est pas le bon diagnostique, ce sera réinstallation de U17.04 pour nouveau test.

Même le SSD Marvell SanDisk SDSSDXPS480G connaît des pics à 53°C, bien que non-rotatif.
==> Ventilation insuffisante.

Regarde la rubrique "Selection of relevent log entries:"
cette fois, elle est truffée d'erreurs usb variées.
Cela confirme que, indépendamment
de la ventilation insuffisante,
de la détérioration physique de certains disques,
et du non-partitionnement d'au moins deux disques,
ta 17.04 à noyau 4.10.0-24-generic 64 bits a un problème avec l'usb en général.

P.S. 1 :
Pour la température, oui, vrai problème à priori réglé par un nettoyage et un panneau remplacé par du tissu moustiquaire.
Bien, si les températures internes ont descendu ; suis régulièrement :
- celles des disques avec
sudo hddtemp /dev/sd?
en visant à ne pas dépasser 48°C pour les rotatifs ;
- les autres températures avec
sensors

P.S. 2 :
Puisque
l'ASMEDIA est bien dans le bisnext :

Sous 17.04 il n’apparaît nul part ni avec lsusb, ni avec fdisk, pas plus que par le gui / disk

Au final, j'ai appliqué ceci :
- débranchement de tous les périphériques USB et débranchement de l'alimentation pour quelques minutes :

Plus d'erreurs USB au démarrage.
- Redistribution des disques dans le boîtier + ventilo supplémentaire. plus de températures au-dessus de 40°C
- Fsck sur les disques depuis 16.04 tous sont "propres".
- Puis pour être tranquille réinstallation de 17.04.
Apparemment c'est maintenant bon.

Je reste dans l'incompréhension de deux - trois phrases, avec le sentiment gênant d'être passé à coté d'un message.
