Plantage au démarrage: Error reading sector 0x802 from hd0
Bonjour,
Au démarrage ce matin j'ai eu droit à un écran noir avec le message "Error reading sector 0x802 from hd0"
Après recherche sur ce forum, j'ai redémarré sur un LiveCD et j'ai exécuté le script donné sur ce post:

ça a généré un fichier de résultats que je ne sais pas interpréter:
C'est un ordinateur de bureau assemblé qui n'a qu'un disque dur interne Sata avec Ubuntu installé seul.
Auriez vous une idée sur le moyen de résoudre le problème ?

Installe l'application smartmontools et publie l'état du disque.
https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/smartmontoolssudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends smartmontools
et poste le retour de
sudo smartctl -s on -a /dev/sdX
en remplaçant X par la bonne lettre.

Si tu ne peux plus booter, tente de réinstaller car.
Tu as dis que la cause est un secteur illisible
ce qui est probable puisque.

On voit bien que c'est le cas.
Mais le firmware du disque dit que tout va bien.

Peut-être que changer de modèle de disque serait une piste.
Dans un premier temps, lance boot-repair et demande lui de réinstaller le dernier noyau. En effet core.img dit n'importe quoi ( partition 112!)

Il serait possible de faire un test de qualité en liveUSB.
installer ddrescue.
sauver fictivement le disque.
sudo mkdir /home/ubuntu/dd
sudo ddrescue -f -n -b512 /dev/sda /dev/null /home/ubuntu/dd/suivi
sudo ddrescue -f -c1 -b512 /dev/sda /dev/null /home/ubuntu/dd/suivi
regarder le nombre total de secteurs illiibles.
touch /home/ubuntu/dd/badblocs
sudo ddrescuelog -l- -b512 /home/ubuntu/dd/suivi >/home/ubuntu/dd/badblocs
wc -l /home/ubuntu/dd/badblocs
cat /home/ubuntu/dd/badblocs
Puis un nouveau rapport smartctl pour voir le changement.
si peu, on peut tenter de réparrer. Si trop, disque à changer.

Merci pour l'analyse du problème.
Ayant un SSD neuf disponible, je pense que le plus simple et le plus sûr serait d'abord y installer un Linux, et on devrait y gagner en réactivité du système.
Et ensuite je pourrais peut être accéder à l'ancien disque, faire les tests suggérés et peut être récupérer quelques données.
Cette machine ayant une dizaine d'année : Pentium G3220 Processeur 2 coeurs et 4 Go de RAM DDR3, pensez vous qu'il supportera la dernière version de Linux Mint, ou bien si c'est trop lourd, Ubuntu serait plus approprié?

Bonjour.
C'est effectivement l'occasion de faire une installation neuve.
A moins que le disque soit en très mauvais état, tu devrais pouvoir accèder au répertoire home.
Je ne sais pas conseiller pour les versions.. Tu pourrais tenter une version 22.04 de la même déclinaison que celle que tu utilises.

Avant de réinstaller Ubuntu sur un SSD neuf, j'ai essayé, comme conseillé plus haut, de lancer un liveCD de Boot Repair.
Boot Repair, après mise à jour, me permet de créer seulement un rapport boot-info ( ce que j'ai fait ), mais il ne propose aucune option de réparation.
J'ai vérifié dans le BIOS :
- Mode Legacy et UEFI
- Le disque dur est en UEFI

Que deux secteurs illisibles détectés. Mais cela semble très mauvais car le secteur 2048 contient la description du début de la partition.
On va devoir partir sur une vraie duplication ailleurs.
De plus le 2050 vient de sortir.

Il va donc falloir une partition de 476938 Mo de disponible quelque part.
Je n'avais pas réalisé que le message d'erreur "error reading sector 0X802" donnait le numéro de secteur exprimé en Hexadécimal...
((8*16)+0*16)+2 =2050

Merci beaucoup pour votre aide.
Je ne suis pas allé plus loin dans les essais de récupérations de ce HDD, je suis passé sur un SSD tout neuf ... et j'y gagne en vitesse !

Cela semble normal de booter plus vite et de démarrer les applications plus vite. Si tu as besoin de récupérer les données, trois choix possibles:
- Sauver cette partition qui se dégrade dans une nouvelle partition puis utiliser fsck pour tenter de réparer. Au pire testdisk en l'état dans cette nouvelle partition si fsck foire.
- Utiliser fsck pour tenter de réparer , quitte à accélérer la dégradation. Au pire testdisk en l'état dans cette partition qui se dégrade si fsck foire.
- Au pire testdisk en l'état dans cette partition en mauvais état.
