Impossble de changer la resolution de l'ecran

Bonjour à tous

J'ai un petit soucis
Il m'est impossible de changer la resolution de mon écran.
sa résolution actuelle est de 1152x864 et si je change le parametre dans les Préférences, il me dit "voulez-vous gardez cette résolution..." sans tout de fois avoir changé quoi que ce soit à la résolution et comme un idiot je dit oui et la, comme un miracle il ne se passe rien et il revient à la fenetre prescedente avec les parametres anterieures

sinon dans cette section il faut ajouter la gamme de frequence du moniteur, à chercher dans sa doc ou sur le net :

    VertRefresh     x - y

remplacer a,b,x et y par les valeurs basses et hautes de la gamme de frequence horizontale et verticale (rafraichissement).

Vous avez deux sections device, deux cartes vidéo,  deux sections monitors et deux sections screens !  c'est pas simple.

un petit sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg ferait pas de mal, à moins que ce soit normal avec une carte ati?

j'ai plusieurs fois aidé à un souci de rafraichissement, et mon expérience me montre que c'est primordial de bien renseigner les gammes du moniteur, surtout quand celles-ci ne sont pas trouvées par la configuration.

mon pb c'est resolu par lui meme
apres avoir modifier mon xorg.conf et avoir redemaré : serveur x planté !
sous une session recovery (pardon pour les fautes ) j'ai denouveau rechargé mon xorg avant modif - redemarage - et la ça marche !
je peux modifier ma resolution comme je l'entend
moi n'a pas comprendre mais heureux tout comme
