Pb résolution Dual Screen Xinerama

Bonjour à tous,

j'ai un portable Dell D600 avec une ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 et je viens de brancher un ecran sur le port vga.
J'ai suivi le tuto "Xinerama" sur le forum ubuntu (anglais) http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=1773624.
Cependant, j'ai un souci : je n'arrive pas à avoir la bonne résolution sur mon 2e écran.
L'écran de portable se met bien en 1400x1050 mais le 2e écran reste en 1024x768 (au lieu de 1240x1024).

je ne connait pas trop mais l option ddcmode force la resolution du premier ecran il me semble.
Je viens de me battre avec une carte ati, et est un peu la meme config.
