[Résolu] Impossible de lancer Windows après réinstallation Unbuntu
Bonjour à tous
J'ai épluché je ne sais combien de page sur des sujets similaires mais cette saleté refuse toujours de démarer. Avant de perdre totalement la raison je me dis que quelqu'un va voir le détail que j'ai raté. Merci d'avance pour votre aide.
Historique :
[*]PC Win7 + Unbuntu 16 en dual boot fonctionnel
Crash unbuntu, il ne repart plus (win fonctionne bien, lancé depuis Grub)
Réinstallation Unbuntu 20 sur la partition qui hébergeait le 16
Unbuntu 20 va bien, mais grub ne reconnait pas Windows et ne le lance pas malgré les tentatives de configurations manuelles.

Les deux OS sont sur le même disque SSD (sda), l'autre ne sert qu'à de la donnée froide.
Le Win7 semble installé en Bios historique, pour l'Unbuntu je n'ai pas fait attention en l'installant, il est donc en UEFI par défaut. Je suis a peu près sur que le problème vient de la.
J'ai tenté de lancer en direct le Win7 depuis le bootloader (sans attendre le chargement de grub) mais j'ai maintenant un bel écran noir (ce qui semble logique puisque si j'ai bien suivi, grub a écrasé le MBR)
J'ai tenté un boot repair qui n'a pas changé grand chose, voici le rapport :

Moi je pense qu'il ne faut pas fonctionner en mode EFI pour ce W7 déjà installé
Donc mettre BIOS en mode Legacy
le disque ne doit pas etre en GPT
si c'est le cas W7 est très très mal
Avec un live CD/DVD voir les partitions du disque
Si le disque n'etait pas en GPT je vois pas comment Ubuntu se serait installé en UEFI

Tu as raison. Pour obtenir un dual-boot correct, tu vas devoir démarrer en mode Bios (et non pas en mode EFI) sur le support live de Ubuntu 20.04 qui t'a servi pour l'installation. Tu sélectionneras "Essayer Ubuntu" afin de démarrer une session live. Puis tu passeras la commande suivante dans un terminal depuis la session live :
[ -d /sys/firmware/efi ] && echo "Session EFI" || echo "Session non-EFI"- si le résultat est "Session EFI", ne va pas plus loin : redémarre ton ordi et va dans le Bios afin de trouver le moyen de démarrer en mode non-EFI (en mode Bios) jusqu'à ce que tu obtiennes "Session non-EFI"
- si le résultat est "Session non-EFI", c'est bon, tu peux procéder comme suit :
1) avec Gparted lancé depuis la session live, tu supprimes (*) toutes les partitions du disque sda pour ne laisser que la partition sda1 qui contient W7, puis tu quittes Gparted
2) tu lances l'installation de Ubuntu 20.04 - toujours depuis la même session live - avec le choix "installer Ubuntu à côté de Windows 7" à l'étape "Type d'installation". L'installateur va créer deux partitions : il va annoncer son intention avec un message de ce style : https://pix.toile-libre.org/?img=1613143357.png ( partition n°2, c'est sda2, partition n°5, c'est sda5)
(*) pour supprimer ces partitions, utilise le paragraphe "Suppression d’une partition" de la doc Gparted. Quand elles sont toutes supprimées, il est nécessaire de valider l'ensemble de ces suppressions comme expliqué dans le paragraphe "Application de toutes les opérations"

Bonjour,
Je remarque que ce genre de problème revient souvent, et qu'il est généralement lié à l'installation de plusieurs OS différents (généralement Windows et Ubuntu) sur des modes différents (UEFI ou Legacy). Les tutos traitant de l'installation en multiboot sont parfois obsolètes et ne traitent pas tous de ce point délicat.
Il y a donc lieu de bien lire le tuto que l'on compte utiliser, après avoir vérifié sa date de publication (il n'existe malheureusement pas de critère de date de péremption 
)

Merci pour vos conseils, Je vais tester ces options et je vous dirais ce que ça donne (avec un peu de chance demain soir).
Il n'y avait pas de Window précédent sur ce disque, j'ai installé Win 7 et Unbuntu 16 en même temps (2016 donc) et les OS n'ont pas bougés (en dehors des mises à jour) depuis ce temps
Pour le grub Win7 c'est effectivement moi qui l'ai configuré (mais il ne fonctionne pas).
Sauf erreur de ma part, si je passe le bios en BIOS et non en UEFI je peux faire une croix sur la clef usb Linux et je dois graver l'OS sur un DVD puisque le BIOS legacy ne supporte pas le boot USB, c'est bien ça ?
On va espérer que je puisse me passer de la réparation de W7 puisque je n'ai pas la moindre idée d'ou est passé le CD (et qu'en trouver un autre avec le couvre feu est peu pratique).
Sinon faudra peut être que j'envisage de m'offrir une licence Win10 ou que je monte une VM capable de faire tourner steam (c'est à peu près la seule appli que je fasse tourner sur la session Win...)

Personnellement, je dirais (presque) le contraire : je n'ai pas d'UEFI, donc je suis en bios legacy, et rien ne m’empêche de booter en USB ! Du moment que le périphérique usb est reconnu (et bootable, évidemment), je ne vois pas ce qui peut interdire de booter dessus.

Effectivement le bios (réglé en legacy) charge bien le live Ubuntu depuis ma clef USB.
Opération testée :
Mettre le bios en legacy
Lancer Ubuntu 20 depuis la clef USB
Vérifier le répertoire /sys/firmware/efi => il n'existe pas => on est bien en legacy
Réinstallation Ubuntu en écrasant l'installation précédente
Fin de l'installation, redémarage, je me retrouve avec le grub en mode text...

En fouillant un peu sur le net je trouve un cas similaire. Je tente les commandes suivantes sous grub :

normal J'arrive sur un menu grub. A ma demande, ca boot sur Ubuntu correctement
Je tente un update-grub pour avoir la détection de l'OS. Ca marche.
Reboot, toujours le grub minimaliste, je retape les commandes et la je me retrouve sur Ubuntu sans passer pas le menu (ça sent pas bon).

On y voit un chargeur de Grub dans le MBR du disque sda qui pointe sur msdos5. Il s'agit d'un reliquat de ton ancienne installation, du temps où ton dual-boot fonctionnait. Ce chargeur ne pouvait plus fonctionner.

Comme malbo, je pense que cette installation est bonne, et que tu as probablement deux problèmes restant à régler :
1 : la priorité de ton BIOS est réglée sur l'uefi. Ça expliquerait le fait que boot-info pense toujours que tu bootes en uefi.
2. Tu as le bug d'affichage de GRUB s'il n'est pas en mode console.
A ta place, avec le navigateur en mode admin, je commencerais par renommer le dossier efi de la partition sda3 en oldefi. Ou tu supprimes carrément la partition sda3 avec gparted. Il faudra aussi modifier le fichier /etc/fstab en mettant # devant la ligne suivante pour ne pas avoir d'erreur au démarrage :
UUID=ABA2-A7F4 /boot/efi vfat umask=0077 0 1Au prochain démarrage, je pense que ton Ubuntu devrait booter directement sans afficher un GRUB.
Si oui, il faudra modifier le fichier /etc/défaut/GRUB pour retirer le # devant la ligne

sudo update-grubet ton menu devrait apparaître.

Il faut que tu ailles dans le Boot menu de ton ordi au démarrage pour sélectionner le démarrage sur Crucial CT525MX3 (ton disque dur sda) et non pas sur l'entrée "ubuntu" parce que cette dernière démarre en mode EFI. Il est possible que le Boot menu te propose deux entrée pour Crucial CT525MX3, du genre :
(UEFI) Crucial_CT525MX3
Crucial_CT525MX3 Il faut prendre l'entrée qui ne comporte pas la mention "UEFI" afin de démarrer en mode Bios sur ton Ubuntu installé.

Bonsoir à tous,
J'ai fini par craquer et me décider à refaire une installation à zéro des deux OS. Du coup j'ai rebasculé le bios en mode UEFI et ai cherché à booter sur une clef Win10 fraichement préparée. La clef win 10 a planté (sans doute mal copiée ? ) mais en rebootant le pc pour la refaire le grub de Ubuntu est parti correctement et a accepté de lancer Win7.
Je ne comprend pas vraiment ce qui lui arrive mais pour ce mois ci j'ai passé assez de temps à jouer à l'adminsys. Ca m'a donné l'occasion de me remettre à niveau sur le boot et ses subtilités (visiblement pas toutes encore) mais pour le moment je vais m’arrêter la.

La session est en non EFI selon cette méthode.
J'ai un peu de mal à comprendre comment j'en suis arrivé à ce stade mais au final :
[*]Si je laisse le PC booter tout seul je tombe sur un grub en ligne de commande. Je peux lancer linux à condition d'avoir les commandes. [/*]
[*]Si au boot je force le bootLoader sur le disque P0 il boot sur le grub avec l'interface proposant les différents choix [/*]

J'ai un peu de mal à saisir comment j'en suis arrivé à ce stade. J'aurais quelque chose de plus propre en réinstallant tout à partir de 0 mais j'y ai déja passé pas mal de temps. Ce sera pour la prochaine fois qu'il crash. Ca m'a au moins rappelé de mettre à jour mes sauvegardes externes.

Depuis le début de ce fil, j'ai affirmé que Ubuntu doit être installé - et doit fonctionner - en mode non-EFI ( c'est à dire en mode Bios classique) parce que Windows 7 est installé en mode non-EFI. Pour le reste, je ne sais pas interpréter tout ce que tu décris et en particulier, je ne sais pas expliquer ça : "Si je laisse le PC booter tout seul je tombe sur un grub en ligne de commande"
EDIT : puisque tu souhaites en rester là, je te prie de procéder comme suit pour fermer cette discussion, :
1) te connecter sur le forum
2) cliquer sur "Modifier" en bas à droite de ton PREMIER post
3) modifier le titre de la discussion pour qu'il devienne :
[Résolu] Impossible de lancer Windows après réinstallation UnbuntuJe propose de virer la mention "dual boot" pour éviter que le titre soit trop long.

Si j'ai bien compris, la solution passe par la simplicité : tous les os installés doivent l'être sur la même base (MBR ou UEFI), le panachage pourrait marcher, mais est fortement déconseillé

Oui, c'est le sujet de mon tuto qui est épinglé sur le forum "Questions et informations avant l'installation" : [Tuto] Faut-il installer Ubuntu en mode EFI ou en mode BIOS ?
