Salut iznode,
je l'ai fais, mais je ne connais pas grand chose dans ce que j'ai vu, de plus le journal était hyper long
je debute en linux et je ne sais pas comment mettre un tel fichier ici sur le forum

inutile de donner le fichier complet , les 200 dernieres lignes devraient etre suffisantes .
suffit de faire un copier coller entre balises code comme pour un retour de commande .

@geole c'est bon le fichier .iso est correct la commande sha256sum a rendu la même somme de contrôle

je viens de refaire l'install, j'en ai profité pour récupérer les fenêtres d'installation où j'ai eu des choix, certains me semblent faciles, mais pour d'autres, j'ai de petits doutes

corriger l' installateur , je ne pense pas que ce soit facile .

peut etre qu ' il ya un contournement possible en choisissant le mode avancé et en creant les partitions a sa place . mais je ne suis pas suffisament expert pour ca je n ' ai pas fait d' installation depuis au moins 3 ans et ma 24.04 est une version MAN .

on dirait que tu as un disque avec table GPT et que ton installation tente de se faire en mode LEGACY BIOS , et qu ' il refuse .

Ton BIOS est reglé pour faire des demarrages uniquement en EFI ? si non , il faudrait commencer par ca .

Oui oui, je vais attendre, car je ne connais pas grand-chose.

Au démarrage du Pc, je vois UEFI et plus haut dans le fil ou un autre, je devais tester si j'étais bien en EFI et c'était ok.

Ensuite bricoler dans le BIOS, c'est tout en anglais et je suis archi-nul ^^ et des BIOS, il en existe beaucoup, même pour une seule marque, du coup, il faudrait tomber sur quelqu'un qui connait bien le mien.
Sinon pour info, mon BIOS tout ce que je peux dire pour le moment, c'est que mon Pc est un Asus.

tu pourrais montrer comment est vu ton disque sur lequel tu tentes d' installer :
si tu choisis SDA pour installer ubuntu , montre

sudo fdisk -l /dev/sda

si c' est sdb :

sudo fdisk -l /dev/sdb

si c' est un disque nvme , montre

sudo fdisk -l /dev/nvme0n1

sinon tu peux aussi fournir un tutoriel/boot-info qui rassemble toutes les données de ta config de demarrage de ton ordi .

le 01 février j'avais répondu à geole ceci

J'ai remis mon HDD 1 To en NTFS (/dev/sdb2) puis j'ai réduis une partition de 64 Go (/dev/sdb3) pour y mettre Ubuntu en cohabitation avec Windows 10 (installé sur SSD C:
j'ai laissé cette partition de 64 Go en NTFS mais à passer en Ext4 pour Ubuntu

ensuite il m'a confirmé d'installer Ubuntu sur SDB3 qui fait 64Go et formaté en Ext4
sinon je dois booter sur ma LiveUSB faire la manip et revenir sur windows

ok , mais dans ce cas , ou est ce que tu as choisi d' installer le peripherique d' amorcage ? dans sdb aussi ? mais il n' y a plus d' espace libre ...
il te faut alors choisir la partition EFI du disque windobz .
c' est surement la cause du probleme . enfin je pense .

le 1er choix, je ne peux pas choisir le 1 donc je prends le 2

je ne suis pas un utilisateur avancé ^^ et je ne sais pas ce qu'est un autoinstallateur yam

quand je suis là, tu confirmes qu'il faut bien selectionner SDB3 puis cliquer sur Changer

ca ouvre la petite fenetre ci dessous, où dans mon cas je laisse la taille max c'est a dire 64 Go et j'ajoute / pour le point de montage

et au final, c'est surement cela le probleme, je selectionne ma LiveUSB car j'ai cru que l'instalateur demandais où était "le chargeuir d'amorcage", ni mon SSD ni mon HDD sont selectionnable, alors j'ai pris le seul choix possible, j'avoue n'avoir pas beaucoup réflechi, mais ma dernière interrogation était justement, "là j'ai un message d'erreur qui ne peut pas installer Grub (bien que je ne sache pas encore ce que c'est) mais peut-etre si je n'avai spas ce message, il m'installerai le boot Windows ou Ubuntu"

je ne sais pas du tout faire ca
mais maintenant que tu en parles, il me semble que sur mon autre vieux Pc il y a une petite partition qui pourrait servir a ca, mais je n'ai eu aucun problème pour installer Ubuntu et avoir un dualboot, alors que sur celui ci j'avance de problème en problème.

je viens de lire le lien du paragraphe 3.2, je peux essayer de le faire

- je prefere le faire depuis windows, est ce que ca pose un probleme ?
- je mets 32 ou 1 Mo
- le drapeau c'est bien le nom de cette partition ?
- comment je peux savoir si mon disque est GPT ? et comment mettre cette petite partition au début de mon HDD, pas envie de recasser la MBR ou FAT ou je sais pu quoi ^^

Bonsoir.
1 Je ne pense pas que windows  puisse le faire. Il faut utiliser le support d'installation.
2  Je ne connais pas de cas où 32 Mo fut nécessaire,
3. Le drapeau est un drapeau et pas un nom ni une étiquette, il n'est pas unique,
4-a  Pour vérifier que le disque est partitionné GTP

sudo fdisk -l /dev/sdX

en remplaçant X par la bonne lettre.
4.b Je pense
    -  Qu'il n'y a pas de probléme si cette partition est dans le premier To du disque
    -  Que cela ne marchera jamais si cette partition est au-delà du second To
    - Entre 1 To et 2 To, les grubs anciens ne savent pas traiter.

A mon avis tu as booté en legacy au lieu de EFI, c'est pour cela que tu es emmerdé.
Vérifie que le bios dit USB EFI FIRST,

Salut,

Peut-être peux-tu nous redonner quelques infos depuis ton live-usb pour qu'on saisisse mieux la situation. Le retour des commandes suivantes seraient bienvenues :

sudo parted -l
sudo efibootmgr-v

On pourra comparer avec l'ancien sujet pour voir ce que tu fais exactement. Car, ici, ton Windows étant installé en UEFI, tu dois faire de même avec ton Linux. Et ce qu'on voit ici suggère que ce n'est pas le cas :

Vérifie que le bios dit USB EFI FIRST

j'ai fouillé mon BIOS sans trouver ce paramètre.
Je vais sur Linux pour taper

Sinon, j'ai fait quelques photos pour vous montrer et j'aurai quelques questions

Voici mes questions.
1° Vous confirmez bien que je dois créer la partition grub-bios de 1 Mo dans SDB2 ?

2° Si je sélectionne SDB2, est-ce que je dois cliquer ensuite sur + ou sur Changer ?

3° j'anticipe un peu, mais à un moment je vais arriver sur cette petite fenêtre (avec le bon disque), mais pour faire une partition grub-bios, je suppose que je ne devrais pas remplir les champs "Utilisée comme" et "Point de montage", mais juste renseigner la taille de 1 Mo en haut ?, c'est bien ça ? Le bouton "Ok" ne va pas rester grisé ?

4° Si j'ai à peu près bien compris ce que je dois faire, une fois sur cet écran (ci-dessous), pour le péripherique Bootloader, je devrais sélectionner la nouvelle partition de 1 Mo qui apparaitra ?

5° Voici quelques photos de ce que j'ai dans mon BIOS désolé si les photos ne sont pas top.
Tout en bas, sous CPU configuration, c'est USB configuration

hier soir j'avais Legacy USB support Enabled, je l'ai passé en Disabled ce matin, mais je ne trouve pas EFI

Voici 3 photos de paramètres de boot option priorities, sachant que
HFS128G...... c'est mon SSD C:

Windows boot manager, j'ignore pourquoi il n'est pas sélectionné

Re,

Pour moi, tu n'as aucun besoin de créer une partition bios-grub. Ton Windows boote en uefi, ta clé Ubuntu aussi. Tes disques sont au format gpt. Tout est ok pour l'installation en uefi. Rien n'est à toucher dans le bios, selon moi.

Le problème doit venir du fait que tu veux installer Ubuntu sur sdb qui ne contient pas de partition efi. Si tu demandes à GRUB de s'y installer aussi, il veut une partition bios-grub en contrepartie, croyant que tu veux installer un grub-pc, ce qui n'est pas du tout le cas.

Donc, soit tu crées une partition efi sur sdb (par exemple à la place de sdb1 qui ne sert absolument à  rien) et tu installes ton GRUB dessus, soit tu utilises celle de sda (sans la formater pour ne pas perdre le boot de Windows). Perso, je conseillerais plutôt la première option.

Attends le retour de geole qui est mieux au fait du fonctionnement de Subiquity que moi. Il aura peut-être un autre avis.

PS. Je ne parviens pas à ouvrir tes trois premières images sur ma tablette...

ok c'est rassurant ^^
Ce que j'essaye de faire, c'est intaller Ubuntu en cohabitation avec Windows 10, sauf que mon SSD n'a plus que 22Go de libre, geole m'a dit que je pouvais conserver Windows 10 sur le SSD et installer Ubuntu sur le HDD de 1To, j'ai donc sur HDD fait une partition de 64 Go formatée en Ext4.

D'ici quelques mois, quand je serai bien familiarisé avec Ubuntu, je ferai certainement l'inverse, c'est à dire installer Ubuntu sur le SSD en le formatant en Ext4, et bricoler un Windows sur le HDD, ou alors me passer définitivement de Windows^^

C'est vrai que je galère parce que je n'ai pas un bon niveau pour cette transition, en plus je fais des bétises comme perdre 1 To de données perso, mais y'a quelques années, au boulot, j'étais admin Unix et j'adorai le Shell, Vi, ...Etc

idem pour ouvrir les images, pour moi je n'arrive a ouvrir aucune, c'est pour cela que ce midi j'avais fais ce post avec des grandes images, je les ai refaites en vignette
j'utilise postimages je vais tester sur ImgBB, je referai les vignettes aprés diner

Tout me semble bon sur sdb (ton HDD). Il n'y manque qu'une partition efi pour y mettre GRUB. La partition inutile de 134 Mo paraît idéale pour en devenir une. Ainsi, tu auras un Linux indépendant, ce qui ne risquera pas d'impacter ton Windows sur sda (ton SSD).

Après,  comme j'ignore si Subiquity (l'installateur) gère nativement os-prober (la fonction de GRUB gérant le dual-boot), je préfère attendre l'avis de geole qui suit les évolutions d'Ubuntu de plus près que moi.

Bonjour.
Je n'avais pas réalisé qu'il y avait un windows EFI dans un autre disque.
Donc, booter avec le support d'installation.
lancer gparted.
Reformater la partition SDB1 de 134  Mo en FAT32
Reformater la petite partition de 60 Go en EXT4.
Quitter gparted.
Lancer l'installation..

Au moment crucial dire partitionnement manuel
Dire que la partition de 64 Go ( SDB3 ) est à  modifier pour la monter  sur le point de montage /
au besoin redire ext4
Dire que la partition de 134 Mo ( SDB1 ) est à modifier pour la monter sur le point de montage /boot/efi au besoin redire fat32
et valider l'installation.

waohh ca me parait bien d'un coup

@geole est ce que toi aussi tu n'arrives pas a voir mes images plus haut ?

question sur cette partition de 134 Mo, est ce qu'elle s'est faite aprés que j'ai formaté mon HDD en NTFS ? elle est vraiment inutile ?
J'ai regardé GParted, voici la capture :
  (ImgBB a l'air mieux que Postimages, seul bémol je suis obligé de faire clic droit et ouvrir dans nouvel onglet sinon ca mets le bazar quand je reponds ici)

PS: oublié de dire, cette partition de 134 Mo est pile au début du disque, ça réponds a ce qui avait été demandé bien plus haut, donc c'est impec
