je suis allé voir dans var/log
mais je n'ai rien vu qui ressemble à quelque chose en rapport avec brother

Dans le dossier Brother que j'avais crée pour déposer les .deb on trouve ça :

Est-ce que ça a un quelquonque intérêt ?

c’est un exécutable qui supprime les paquets de ton imprimante
donc n’y touche pas
tu peux supprimer le dossier brother il ne sert plus maintenant

on peux voir ce qui y a dans localhost:631 si une nouvelle imprimante a été ajouté ou si l’imprimante par défaut à quel pilote ?

Dit autrement si je veux supprimer les pilotes de mon imprimante, il me suffit de faire dans un terminal :

sudo bash uninstaller_HL3040CN

C'est bien ça ?.

J'aurai appris des choses finalement.

Dommage on ne saura pas pourquoi ça fonctionne avec ce script en plus
pas seulement il faut mettre ce fichier en exécutable, mais maintenant tu sais faire cela.
tu peux aussi supprimer les 2 ou 3 paquets nécessaires depuis ton gestionnaire de paquets

je viens d'installer la brother sur un pc sous Débian 11 (DFlinux Bullsye) sans problème.
- j'ai rendu exécutable le script
- je n'ai pas eu besoin d'appliquer la ligne de commande permettant de rendre compatible les 2 architectures.
- la page test ne s'est pas imprimé - allez donc savoir pourquoi - une page de traitement de texte s'est imprimé parfaitement.

Et voila le retour (il y a du monde ! )

Bonjour

Même chose avec le même script sur debian et sur Ubuntu
et ça fait maintenant plusieurs années que ça fonctionne aussi bien avec les différentes versions du script de Brother : linux-brprinter-installer-2.2.3-1
avec en prime le fait que maintenant, mon HL-L2340DW fonctionne aussi sans pilote <=> driverless <=> sans pilote sous debian et Ubuntu

Alors , voici le fameux paquet dont je parlais dans un de mes messages precedent ( au #64 : https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.p … #p22645748 ) que l' on voit apparaitre dans cette partie du retour du #80 :

Aucune version du paquet ia32-libs n'est disponible, mais il existe dans la base
de données. Cela signifie en général que le paquet est manquant, qu'il est devenu obsolète
ou qu'il n'est disponible que sur une autre source
Cependant les paquets suivants le remplacent :
  lib32z1

E: Le paquet « ia32-libs » n'a pas de version susceptible d'être installée

donc si jamais tu t ' apercois que certaines fonctions coincent , tu peux , ou je sais pas si plutot je ne devrais pas dire , tu dois l ' installer :

sudo apt install lib32z1

en tout cas ce ne peut pas faire de mal , et dans le cas que j' evoquais ca avait resolu la situation .

je suppose que certains cas nécessite en plus l’installation de cette lib32z1 qui dépend de la lib libc6-i386 version >2.4 . avec le script de brother
Chez moi cette lib n’est pas installé et le script de demonipuch ne me l’a pas demandé mais en a demandé une autre: la lib32stdc++6 qui dépend de la libc6-i386 version >2.6 .
Je suppose que c’est parce que j’ai des paquets brother en 64bits et d’autres en 32 bits.
le cas présent ici est pour moi un peu spécial avec 2 paquets en 32 bits uniquement pour l’imprimante.
D’habitude il y en a 5 voir plus paquets 64 et 32 bits pour l’imprimante.

et le driverless est la 1ère voie à explorer mais la reconnaissance n’est pas automatiquement reconnue parce que des paquets peuvent ne pas être installés si on a fait des mises à niveau vers 20.04 ou 22.04 et aussi suivant les imprimantes.
les drivers proprio et driverless peuvent coexister mais une liste d’attente avec l’un ne s’imprime pas avec l’autre.
