UBUNTU 18.04: écran non reconnu: RESOLU

Bonjour,
ma carte graphique RADEON H6670 est reconnue mais pas mon écran ASUS VG245H
Dans affichage des paramètres, onglet écran:

AFFICHAGE INCONNU
il affiche une résolution 1400*1050 au lieu de 1920*1080

J'ai tenté d' utiliser xrandr mais en vain
voilà ce que donne cvt 1920 1080 75 (avec la résolution optimale pour mon écran):

Sympa l'écran smile

Question :
* câble VGA ou HDMI

le problème avec ce type d'écran, c'est une avalanche de normes X, Y, Z, etc
Exemple avec la norme WHQL. Le truc spécial Microsoft pour éviter que windows plante !
Cette nouvelle norme introduit une régression des performances avec certain écran.
C'est con ! Surtout que tout le monde sait ici que windows ça ne plante jamais !
Encore moins à cause d'un simple écran...
En théorie, l'écran renvoie ses données vers l'ordi, qui après traitement, configure le moniteur (sauf erreur c'est ISO 9241-3xx).
Avec Microsoft, c'est toujours le bordel...

d'abord merci de t'être pencher sur mon souci: j'ai essayé de le résoudre en appliquant le tuto que tu m'a envoyé:

1) en exécutant la première commande, il en ressort une erreur:

xrandr

   1400x1050     77.00* 

le nom du mode d'écran n’apparaît pas, mais Screen 0 à la place!

2)J'ai essayé de définir une résolution non listée par xrandr : refus

xrandr --newmode $(gtf 1920 1080 75 | sed -ne 's/"//g;s/ Modeline //p')
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default

3) en me référant au tuto de wiki ubuntu sur xrandr: j'ai essayé d'identifier mon écran:

xrandr | grep -e " connected [^(]" | sed -e "s/\([A-Z0-9]\+\) connected.*/\1/"
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
default connected primary 1400x1050+0+0 0mm x 0mm

4)ma CG supporte bien le FULL HD (1920*1080)

Conclusion: au vu des erreurs, mon écran n'est pas identifié, il faudrait rentrer dans le fichier Xorg et le modifier (rentrer une section "screen" et mettre la résolution attendue) mais je ne sais pas où se trouve ce fichier?
si quelqu' un a une idée, je suis preneur.

il semble qu'il y ait une erreur de syntaxe: j' esaie ceci:

xrandr --addmode sortie 1920x1080_75
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
xrandr: cannot find output "sortie"

En partant de la Doc > resolution_ecran_avance#specifications_de_l_ecran_non_detecte

Extrait § 2 a écrit :

Créez en premier lieu un fichier xorg.conf. Éditez le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf avec les droits d'administration.

Recherchez dans ce fichier la section nommée Monitor. Entre les lignes Section "Monitor" et EndSection, vous devriez voir apparaître deux lignes qui débutent par les mots HorizSync et VertRefresh. Si elles ne sont pas présentes, vous avez des chances que ce soit la raison de votre problème !

Vous avez maintenant besoin de trouver l'information nécessaire, soit dans le manuel de votre écran, soit par la ligne de commande. Vous avez besoin de connaître la fréquence de synchronisation horizontale (HorizSync) (habituellement mesurée en kHz) et le taux de rafraîchissement vertical (VertRefresh) (normalement en Hz). Ces informations sont habituellement disponibles sous la forme "30-98 kHz" ou "50-160 Hz".

j'ai essayé d' éditer le fichier xorg.conf avec sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
mais le fichier en question est vide: il ne se trouve plus à cet emplacement.

j'ai débranché le câble HDMI et j'ai branché le câble VGA: résultat l' écran n'est toujours pas reconnu et même résolution 1440*1050
je remets en place le câble HDMI

j' ai testé et installé  XUBUNTU 18.10 qui intègre un nouveau noyau
Résultat: le système affiche bien la résolution optimale de mon écran: 1920*1080
Je passe donc le sujet en "RESOLU". Merci encore à la communauté UBUNTU.
