akoya E1210 + ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS 32 bits + problème affichage

Bonjour,
Je viens d'installer une version d'Ubuntu (cf. titre pour la version) sur mon vieil notebook vendu avec XP préinstallé à l'époque.
Tout s'est bien passé sauf qu'au démarrage je me retrouve avec la majeure partie de mon écran noir.
J'arrive à retrouver un affichage "normal" en branchant un écran sur la prise VGA !!
Une fois l'écran fonctionnel, plus de souci j'utilise l'ordinateur sans souci ; RAS côté Wifi ; RAS côté Webcam (comme j'ai pu le lire sur des échanges sur d'autres forum).
J'aimerai bien, cependant, pouvoir démarrer cet ordinateur directement avec un écran fonctionnel et ne pas passer par la petite astuce "écran additionnel sur sortie VGA" !!! Que je n'aurai pas toujours à porté de main... d'ailleurs.
