Installation d'Ubuntu 16.04 sur Lenovo Y520

Bonjour à tous,

On m'a demandé d'Ubuntu en dual boot sur un flambant neuf Lenovo Legion Y520. La machine semble être doté de 2 disques : un disque ssd avec 60 Go de disponible (partition C) et un autre disque Sata d'1 To de dispo (partition D) dénommé "lecteur de récupération".

Ma question est simple. Si j'installe Ubuntu sur le 2e disque (partition D), Grub saura-t-il gérer l'amorçage des 2 systèmes ? Je ne suis pas très au fait des disques SSD.

Tu as écrit "Y520-151KBN" mais il faut lire "Y520-15IKBN" (c'est un i majuscule et pas un 1).
La référence correcte doit être : Lenovo_MT_80WK_BU_idea_FM_Y520-15IKBN (je peux la retrouver dans ce lien : SYSTEM_SKU:  LENOVO_MT_80WK_BU_idea_FM_Y520-15IKBN )
Pour que je puisse voir comment c'est organisé, je te prie de faire un Boot-Info depuis une session Live de Ubuntu 16.04.3 64 bits en suivant les indications du paragraphe 1.2 Cas où aucun ubuntu installé sur disque n'est opérationnel. Tu donneras l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.

EDIT : je te prie d'aller voir dans ton Bios pour noter ce qu'il y a pour le paramètre MTM. Sur cette photo, on peut voir "MTM : 80WK00CAFR". Note ce que tu vois chez toi.

Ce que j'avais fait sur mon ancien ordi : il y avait Windows 7 sur le disque HDD (d'origine), plus tard j'ai ajouté un SSD sur lequel j'ai installé Xubuntu. Ça marche parfaitement.
J'avais installé et paramétré Grub customizer, ainsi par défaut je démarrais automatiquement sur Xubuntu, sans avoir le menu grub de démarrage. Ensuite, si je voulais démarrer sur Windows, il me suffisait de modifier le paramètre sous Grub customizer : cocher "détecter tous les systèmes" puis de redémarrer.
Par sécurité toutefois, à l'installation, j'ai enlevé le HDD avant de brancher le SSD, pour être sûr que l'install de Xubuntu se ferait sur le bon disque. Ensuite j'ai remis le HDD et Xubuntu l'a très bien détecté.
Intéressant aussi de voir que Xubuntu peut lire le disque Windows (NTFS) alors que l'inverse n'est pas vrai (Windows ne lit pas l'Ext4. En tout cas pas par défaut, mais il y a peut-être des solutions : voir par exemple Ext2fsd)
Au fait, ton disque D c'est un HDD ? C'est dommage d'installer Ubuntu sur un HDD, ça sera moins performant, surtout au démarrage.

Le disque D est un HDD. Win10 est installé sur le SSD avec 60 Go de dispo.

j'ai, à priori le même pc malgré les variantes d'un même modèle chez lenovo : i5 (7eme generation, 128g ssd, 1to hdd, 8g de ram, gtx 1050 2g)
tu peux voir mon install si ça peut aider....

ps: dans ton cas ton ordi semble disposer de w10 (chez moi freedos) il faut donc passer par un redimensionnement des partitions plutôt qu'une reinstall

J'avais vu ton topic sur l'installation d'Ubuntu et W10 à nu. 2 x 60 Go, ce n'est pas trop juste dans la mesure où dans l'install actuel, W10 sans ajout d'applications tierces occupe déjà 57 Go ?

J'avais vu ton topic sur l'installation d'Ubuntu et W10 à nu. 2 x 60 Go, ce n'est pas trop juste dans la mesure où dans l'install actuel, W10 sans ajout d'applications tierces occupe déjà 57 Go ?

quelle mémoire malbo! en effet la config du bios était presque bonne, certainement dû à l'absence d'os autre que freedos, mais il est nécessaire pour l'install de (k)ubuntu de vérifier et corriger les paramètres, dans mon cas le bios était paramétré sur legacy il fallait donc modifier en uefi

- utiliser le bouton spéciale à l’aide d’une pointe, sur la face gauche du portable (à coté du casque/micro) afin de lancer le menu menant au bios. Dans mon cas l’ordi est vide os autre que freedos pour ceux ayant windows déjà installer il faudra reduire la partition d’installation et donc ne pas réinstaller windows (voir doc)
On accède au bios afin de regler les différents paramètres nécessaire à une installation
    - désactiver fastboot, secure boot
    - désactiver intel RST au profit de AHCI
        - il faut vérifier que l'uefi est activé en lieu et place de legacy
    - save and exit
Dans mon cas, les paramètres étaient déjà bien cochés

Je veux bien réduire la partition windows mais de combien sur les 57 Go ? Que peuvent bien contenir les 37 Go supplémentaires de ma version de windows10 ? Comment être sûr de ne pas supprimer des éléments indispensables au bon fonctionnement de Windows ?

Quoiqu'il en soit, le propriétaire du portable est partisan de supprimer windows. Dans ce cas de figure, je suis confronté à une autre difficulté. Est-ce possible de faire un partitionnement de type la racine et le swap sur le disque ssd et le répertoire home sur le disque HDD ? Ça m'est inhabituel mais il faudra bien rendre utile ce deuxième disque HDD d' 1 To ? Je n'ai jamais fait d'installation de Linux sur un pc disposant de 2 disques.

Je te recommande de faire les choses dans l'ordre. Déjà fait ce que j'ai expliqué dans le post #11, à savoir désactiver le mode RAID suivant la page SOLUTION: Switch Windows 10 from RAID/IDE to AHCI operation. Quand ce sera fait, je te prie de refaire un Boot-Info et d'en donner l'URL dans ta réponse afin que je puisse vérifier que ton SSD est bien détecté.
