[résolu] Problème d'espace disque : /var/log plein
Bonjour à tous,
j'ai actuellement un problème d'espace sur ma partition système. Il semblerait que le problème vienne du dossier /var/log qui est plein :

Du coup je sais pas trop ce que je peux supprimer dans ce dossier pour libérer de la place sans créer de problèmes, je suis donc preneur de vos conseils !

Salut !
as-tu analysé le contenu de ces log ?
pour syslog, as-tu de la place pour le copier ailleurs avant raz ?
pour syslog qui est énorme :
sudo cp /dev/null /var/log/syslog
la commande remet à 0 le fichier sans toucher aux droits.
tu peux remplacer syslog par n'importe quel log.
les log avec 0, 1 sont des archives créées par logrotate, ils peuvent être supprimé.
par contre, il est bon d'y jeter un oeil avant de les poubeliser.
que donne
cat /etc/logrotate.conf

Salut,
5 Go de syslog, ce n'est en aucun cas normal (ça représente 5 fois le texte des 25 volumes de l'Encyclopédie Universalis !).
A mon avis, il faudrait effectivement le vider, puis redémarrer. S'il y a un problème, il recommencera à grandir, mais au moins il sera possible de l'ouvrir et de repérer le message indéfiniment répété avant qu'il soit gigantesque...

Avant suppression et justement à fins d'analyse, commmencer par sauvegarder un extrait de taille raisonnable :
cat /var/log/syslog | tail -n 150 > ~/syslog-tail-du-$(date +%Y%m%d-%Hh%M).txt
(Pas besoin d'être en root, c'est source de confusion).

Quand on cherche les élément les plus volumineux, ls -l n'est pas le plus efficace (trop d'infos, et infos non ordonnées par taille).
Bien plus clair, préférer :
sudo du -x -d1 -BM /var/log 2>/dev/null | sort -nr | head -n7
qui indique, rangés par taille décroissante, le poids total et les 6 éléments les plus lourds
(L'option -BM : poids arrondi au Mio supérieur).
Par exemple :
sudo du -x -BM -d1 / 2>/dev/null | sort -nr | head -n7
3728M /
2652M /usr
430M /lib
319M /var
145M /home
86M /opt
64M /boot
C'est tout de même plus lisible , non ?
/!\ C'est le genre de commande à garder dans un mémo.
(L'option -x n'est pas utile dans /var/log, mais si on applique la même commande à "/" (par exemple), elle devient très utile).

Attention !
Si tu as supprimé syslog, tu dois
soit redémarrer,
soit plus simplement relancer :
sudo service rsyslog restart

Puisque le fichier /boot/initrd.img-*** est mal formé, on peut penser que l'espace manquait pendant la dernière mise à jour.

Or sda6 c'est ton home. Il ne devrait pas être pris pour un système. À moins que...
N'aurais-tu pas installé par erreur un double de grub dans sda6 ?
2) En supposant que tu as redémarré depuis le sudo update-initramfs -u -k all, que donne

1) Ce n'est pas moi qui ait installé ubuntu sur ma machine, mais la personne qui s'en est chargé l'a peut être fait par erreur. Ou alors c'est une fausse manip de ma part mais je n'ai aucune idée de comment on installe un grub...

Tu pourras aussi libérer un peu de place
sudo rm /var/log/syslog-1

En attendant de trouver le remède, voici une ligne qui te libérera de l'espace :
cd /var/log; echo '' | sudo tee syslog.1; sudo rm syslog && sudo service rsyslog restart; cd
et qu'on peut relancer chaque fois que syslog ou syslog.1 ont enflé.

Peux-tu redonner le résultat de cette commande car je ne vois rien très anormal dans la trace (je considère que le wifi c'est devenu un classique)
sudo du -x -d1 -BM /var/log 2>/dev/null | sort -nr | head -n7
et
sudo ls -ls /var/log
sudo ls -ls /tmp

Je crois que Bougron voulait plutôt écrire :
ls -lS /var/log | head
ls -lS /tmp | head
L'option -S (majuscule) de ls trie le résultat par tailles décroissantes.
Le filtrage par "| head" ne garde que les 10 premières lignes.

Dans /tmp, tout est de taille raisonnable.
Mais dans /var/log...
Donne
ls -sS /var/log/dist-upgrade
dmesg|tail -60
sudo cat /var/log/syslog | tail -60
et
sudo cat /var/log/syslog | tail -100|grep PID
On va y chercher le(s) PID récurrents, en vue de les identifier !
/!\ Donc NE redémarre PAS syslogd rsyslog
et ne touche pas à syslog pour l'instant !
Ensuite,
cd /var/log && echo '' | sudo tee syslog.1; echo '' | sudo tee syslog.3.gz; echo '' | sudo tee syslog.5.gz; cd
suffira à te libérer 140 Mo

Je viens de voir plusieurs trucs bizarres :
1) [42556.382732] cfg80211: (57240000 KHz - 63720000 KHz @ 2160000 KHz), (N/A, 0 mBm), (N/A)
Je n'ai jamais vu une fréquence de 57 GHz sur un ordinateur. Peut-être c'est juste un 0 en trop quelque part, sans conséquences...
2) User Manager for UID 65534
Qu'est-ce donc que cet user 65534 ? Peut-être un truc temporaire crée par le système ? Sur Debian (mon système) je n'ai rien de tel...
3) update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-4.4.0-64-generic
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-4.4.0-62-generic
Là ça me paraît plus sérieux. Normalement ça devrait démarrer sur le 4.4.0-64 et utiliser le initrd correspondant. Or manifestement ça démarre sur le 4.4.0-62 (Feb 28 10:05:41 lois-300E4A-300E5A-300E7A-3430EA-3530EA org.kde.kuiserver[1751]: "KConfigIni: In file /boot/initrd.img-4.4.0-62-generic, line 133038: " Invalid entry (missing ']'))
Il serait peut-être utile de faire un
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
Renvoie les retours. Il y a des chances qu'il y ait des erreurs qui nous en diront peut-être un peu plus...
