[RESOLU] La mise à jour xserver-xorg-core fait planter Ubuntu 12.04
Voilà j'ai installé un Ubuntu tout neuf sur mon DD est toujours marché bien, puis j'ai DL les pilotes pour ma carte graphique Radeon HD4850 et toujours aucun problème, puis dans les mises à jours proposées j'ai eu un moment "xserver-xorg-core" et quand j'ai redémarrer mon PC, plus rien.
J'ai un écran noir avec mon log et mon mot de passe et après quand je fais ALT+F7, rien ne se passe.

EndSectionJ'ai regardé de mon côté mais je ne trouve pas la méthode pour réinstaller Xorg et les pilotes ATI en mode CONSOLE.

Euh je serais toi je supprimerais ce xorg.conf (si tu ne veux pas le perdre, copies le juste sous un autre nom), il est super crade et a priori inutile.

Normalement oui, xorg.conf n'est plus nécessaire depuis quelques années.

Ouf, j'ai pu tout récupérer, donc il s'agit bien d'un bug graphique qui affecte un paquet de monde apparemment surtout les possesseurs de carte graphique ATI, j'ai trouvé la solution sur un autre topic du forum.
Donc vous lancez Ubun en MODE RECOVERY, ensuite vous descendez jusqu'à ROOT et après vous entrez la commande suivante :
sudo sh /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh
Cela vous désinstalle les pilotes ATI proprement et après vous n'avez plus qu'à relancer votre machine et réinstaller les derniers pilotes.

Désolé pour le déterrage.
Après une nouvelle mise à jour "Hardware", j'ai eu le même type de problème (le lancement de Chrome faisait planter X) mais je n'ai pas eu le temps d'utiliser cette solution :
sudo sh /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.shhttp://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/radeon#configu … _affichage
Une nouvelle mise à jour "Hardware" est sortie le lendemain même qui à résolu le problème :-)
Si ça peut aider quelqu'un en attendant de prendre le temps de passer à la 14.04 LTS sans rien casser.
