N'oublie pas que, en #4, Comstock n'avait pas encore répondu (il le fera en #12) qu'il avait le même identifiant dans les deux S.E. !
  Dans le cas général, il est logique de copier d'abord et de "chown-er" la copie ensuite. (Je ne sais pas "chown-er" une copie qui n'est pas encore créée).


Et là, j'aurais pu souligner l'articulation logique d'un "B) Mais, "

pour vérification, je viens de changer le home de LinuxMint Xfce 19  par celui de Ubuntu 18.10 avec le remplacement de l'uuid dans le fichier /etc/fstab et mon LinuxMint démarre et fonctionne
ceci a été fait en tres peu de temps , sans problèmes de permissions et même en présence de l'ancien home
(Déplacer un home ou une autre partition ne modifie pas son UUID)

mais de toutes façons je déconseille le home commun

Par contre, écraser la nouvelle partition home sdXN
par un clone d'une autre partition home sdYP
remplace l'uuid de sdXN par celui de sdYP.

Et là, il faut corriger au moins le fstab, pour pouvoir espérer minimiser les ennuis.

  En bref : mauvais plan !

Un /home commun ( à plusieurs systèmes ) : pourquoi pas ?

Ce qui est problématique c'est un répertoire perso ( donc /home/user_untel ) commun à plusieurs systèmes ou plusieurs environnements.

Tant que chaque système a ses propres utilisateurs distincts, pas de risque de « confusion » au niveau des fichiers de config' dans /home/user_untel/.*

Ça peut être un peu plus compliqué avec des environnements différents installés sur un même système - car les env' ne se contentent pas de faire des modif's dans l'espace personnel de l'utilisateur mais aussi au niveau du système ( gdm/lightdm, config's dans /etc… )

Enfin désolé pour le HS, ça ne s'applique pas ici de toute façon.

Par contre : vous lui avez fait copier tout son ancien répertoire perso - ou juste les fichiers pas cachés ?

a l'aide d'un dd -usb je l'ai meme transporté sur un autre système ,sur un autre ordi , idem nickel !...

Ce matin, panne démarrage, écran noir; j'ai démarré à l'aide de Boot Repair ( http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/xNSv8YbNrc/ ).
Je vais tenter de retrouver mes applications installées smile

Pourrais-tu  être plus précis, au démarrage du système, de l'écran de connexion ou au démarrage de la session utilisateur ?

Je vois :

 Boot Info Script e7fc706 + Boot-Repair extra info      [Boot-Info 23Nov2014]]

Une version de boot-repair de novembre 2014, cela semble bien ancien.

Arrives-tu à démarrer après réparation via boot-repair ?

Encore une fois tu nous donnes bien peu d'informations exploitables !

Ben je fournis ce que je peux fournir.... je ne sais pas ce qui est utile où ne l'est pas neutral
C'est pas une envie de nuire de ma part, crois le bien.
Panne de démarrage = écran noir juste après le logo Toshiba.
Ayant Boot Repair sur une clé USB (qui m'a déjà ôté bien des épines du pied) dans le tiroir du bureau, je l'ai utilisé plutôt que de changer de disque dur....
Depuis, j'ai redémarré plusieurs fois sans souci, à part une certaine lenteur.
Et je reconfigure tout mon bazar.... J'en ai pour un sacré moment.

Je n'ai jamais pensé que tu tentais de nuire à quoi que ce soit, ton message est tellement peu clair que nous ne savons pas si tu as besoin d'aide ou pas.

Manifestement tu arrives à démarrer sans problème maintenant donc boot-repair a fait son travail correctement.
Il aurait été intéressant de savoir pourquoi tu as obtenu un écran noir, c'est un peu tard maintenant.

Mais au fait, en #1 tu disais :

   -Le souci de démarrage a touché 18.04 remonté à l'intérieur de mon pc portable, en remplacement de celui hébergeant 16.04.
   -J'ai aperçu "Kernel Panic" noyé au milieu d'un texte incompréhensible pour moi. Toutefois j'ai lancé Boot Repair suite à un écran entièrement noir.
   -Ma reconfiguration porte sur 18.04 hébergé sur mon disque remonté à l'intérieur de mon pc portable, en remplacement de celui hébergeant 16.04.

Voici le retour de ce que tu m'as demandé depuis Xub 18.04, sans rien d'autre qui soit branché. (le disque contenant 16.04 est dans un carton à 3 m du pc! big_smile )

C'est donc, le démarrage du 10/12 à "10:30" qui a échoué. On pourrait explorer kern.log à partir de la ligne

Mais ce ne sera probablement pas nécessaire, parce que, a priori, tu as subi la "bombinette" décrite par malbo en ./viewtopic.php?id=440159&p=1.

La situation de ComSTock n'a rien à voir avec celle décrite par Malbo, ComStock n'utilise q'un disque interne sans Windows opérationnel au sens où os-prober ne détecte pas de Windows dans la partition logique ntfs.
ComStock a réussi au moins un démarrage de la 18.04 le 09/12 avec son disque en interne.
Je penche plutôt pour une mise à jour de noyau non arrivée à terme et provoquant un kernel panic car le 09/12 le kernel 4.15.0-29 fonctionne puis le 10/12 plantage avec le nouveau noyau 4.15.0-42.

Cela ne mange pas de pain de vérifier ce que tu demandes, à mon avis boot-repair a réglé le problème via un dpkg-reconfigure.

Voilà, ton disque devenu interne est
/dev/disk/by-id/ata-TOSHIBA_MQ01ABD100_73TAS9NPS

  Sur la ligne "* grub-pc/install_devices: ", il y a trois désignations de ton disque :
/dev/disk/by-id/ata-TOSHIBA_MQ01ABD100_73TAS9NPS,
/dev/disk/by-id/ata-TOSHIBA_MQ01ABD100_73TAS9NPS-part1,
/dev/disk/by-id/usb-TOSHIBA_TransMemory_683DD38310C4CDB15DA571C0-0:0

La première, vraisemblablement ajoutée par boot-repair, est correcte.
la seconde, qui cible une partition, est une erreur.
La troisième, qui cible un disque absent, est source d'erreur.

Pour y remédier, il te reste
  à vérifier que ton disque a une table msdos

sudo parted -l | grep -Ei "dis|msdos|gpt"

  et, si oui, à appliquer le tutoriel de malbo.  smile

quand malbo parle de 2 S.E dont un windows, sur des disques différents, c'est un cas particulier.
Mais ce qu'il dit reste exact quand les deux S.E. sont des *buntu.

Or grub a été installé quand les deux disques étaient présents.
Donc ComSTock, pour moi, est dans le cas de figure décrit par malbo.

Je n'ai pas spécialement envie de polémiquer autour d'un problème que je considère comme résolu, tu oublies que la 18.04 a démarré correctement au moins une fois avec le disque en interne.
Un kernel Panic arrive après chargement de l'image initiale Ubuntu donc Grub arrive à la charger ce qui implique que Grub a bien accès à la partition Ubuntu et est donc installé correctement.
Ce kernel Panic est plutôt dû à un raté dans la génération de l'image initiale Ubuntu et d'ailleurs malbo ne cite nulle part un kernel panic dans le fil que tu signales.

Juge de paix, le boot-info fourni par ComStock :

Je crois me souvenir que boot-repair touche le mbr ainsi que le vbr de la partition hébergeant Ubuntu, le boot-info avant boot-repair ne détecte pas de grub dans le vbr de /dev/sda1.
